The organization is relatively flat in terms of hierarchy. Everyone is expected to be performing at the top of their game. Your peers are at or above your level and consistently push you to be better. There isn't a day where you won't be challenged. You can step to the challenge or be broken by it. Start ups are hard! There isn't a place to hide, so mediocre or poor performance isn't tolerated. Ability to determine direction of and lead projects, as leadership cannot support or provide direction for teams. "Startup perks" like nitro cold-brew on tap and an open-plan office downtown. Ability to work from home or remotely is nice, but is often met with paranoia and rude responses from leadership. Mission/vision were never clear and were ever changing along with the product roadmap. Constant wag in the development of the product. Lack of leadership and zero opportunity for professional development. Negativity and mistrust from the top down despite best efforts of CEO to spin facts. Culture suffered and paranoia is the norm. No formal onboarding or training of new employees. Client churn is incredibly high as important product updates are put on the back burner in favor of "new directions." Leadership is great at creating smoke and mirrors, but horrible at listening to employee feedback. Over 20 employees (senior and junior) have quit or been terminated in less than a year, leaving a scarce amount of people in the spacious office. They have a nice office even though it is very empty. Very good work life balance. The CEO and leadership team has a problem with communication. The company does not seem to know what to do. Lots of hard work coupled with lots of fun. Everyone is on the bus and we're heading for something great. Unique start-up in that the executive team (CEO, CFO, CPO (chief product officer)) are all been-there, done-that industry veterans. Really sets the company up for success and helps to avoid common pitfalls by less experienced c-suites. If you're not looking for a start-up where direction is ever changing and the number of hats you wear is >1 then probably not the right place. Values framing the workplace environment as a family-like environment- hard to do w/ such diversity in all respects wrt staff. 2) VP Sales, Chief Product Officer, VP Customer Success, Marketing leaders are all very talented and driven people. Tough to maintain constant creativity while tracking to aggressive growth targets (venture backed), but they do a good job... 3) Large TAM, good (overall) positioning within the market. 4) In most respects, technology is far superior to other industry players Product market (s) somewhat saturated with legacy players who have re-modified existing businesses to address the video training space..
