Contiki is not a job its a life experience. You are working 24 hours a day travelling to amazing destinations meeting interesting new people on every tour. Every day is busy and there is a lot of responsibility on your shoulders but its all a insane experience and you learn so much about each country you visit

Great job, horrible management
|
The days on the road are fantastic! It is the best job in the world. To the managers however you are just a number. You have no importance and no identity. You are theirs to use. The management team are the most unprofessional in the business (I have 12 years experience). Much better companies out there with better pay and more professional office staff who treat you with respect and as part of a team rather than a number.

Great job with tepid management
|
The job is fantastic and worth it for anyone with a passion for travel and people. However, management is poor and there's not much chance for change. Pay is not in line with your importance to the company and although tipping is allowed, the company likes to pretend it doesn't exist, which is a problem since the people tipping you are from out of the country and are uncomfortable with the idea. There are ways to move up through the company but they aren't very accessible. The hours are long - it's a lifestyle, not a job, but if helping people travel is your passion, you'll learn a lot and go through things you'd never expect.

The culture of contiki is well known in countries around the world.
Working within the company is a 24/7 during trip season, where nothing else but work is your life, the social aspects of the job are there as a 'benefit' of working for them, but the work is hard and very demanding with minimal to no gratitude from management.
