The treat freelancers very badly , if you are sick or your child is sick they still expect you to work 40 hours and even though they only pay you for the hours youâve worked they treat you as if they pay you millions regardless, toxic management and treat you poorly, no days off and end your contract with a simple message while you are offline

Convoy has many perks

Convoy was a good company to work for the only drawback for me was that it went remote during covid. The management was also made up of hipsters and was a little racially biased in my opinion. I did not adapt well to the change and was discharged.

Mandatory OT For ALL Shifts

Convoy was pretty cool. I worked there while we were at the beginning of the pandemic so it was a WFH position. When I first got hired OT was optional. Then it moved to mandatory because they were short staffed. I personally wasn't ok with it because I worked overnight (9p-7am) and my oldest was doing virtual peek at the time so it was kind of hard to manage the extra hours and family. The checks were sweet but work/life balance is very important to me. Other employees would always talk about how fun the workplace was but I never got to experience it. The management team was pretty good. Great company.

Low pay, Decent Benefits

Decent pay compared to some places but NOT a livable wage regardless, I guess it's okay b/c's the benefits are "unlimited" and PTO is supposed to make up for the fact that you can't afford to live anywhere in the city with this amount. pay is 17.50 at first. Work is for the most part consistent. Workplace culture is young and spirited. A small amount of micromanaging with unrealistic deliverables. Hours are consistent. This is a newer company so training is always updated. Fair/Good would be Great but the pay is insufficient.

It is hard trying to reach somebody nobody ever calls back and they will leave you stranded. They sent me to a load early and then left me stranded. If you have emergencies or sick people or love ones that may need you this is not the company for you.

Promising company overall, but needs to focus on TRAINING!
|
I recently started as a Experience Specialist; I get to work from home, equipment (monitor, laptop, keyboard, mouse, headset) is provided. Training is 3 weeks depending on your position. However, I was initially told by the recruiter it was 2 weeks and learned on the first day of training it was 3. The 3rd week turned out to be a bit unnecessary, because the new hires were actually shadowing and training each other. The trainers we initially had had already moved on another new hire class and kinda left us “hanging” for a week.
There is also additional training opportunities after you start working your permanent shift, but please be very proactive with your manager about receiving training as you may be looked over it. Overall, Training could have been better. The company as a whole needs to focus on training new hires effectively. I personally believe they are initially setting up new hires for failure if this isn’t done properly.
Hourly pay starting out is decent.. benefits offered are excellent- I can honestly say overall, I like this job but I would like it better if greater training opportunities are provided. Management is changing currently and I’ve heard a few coworkers feel the culture is changing from a fun, creative and innovative environment that allowed for independent work into an environment where management has the potential to micromanage your time and productivity, which will lead to an overall toxic environment.
I honestly tried to give Convoy a chance but I’m starting to feel this company isn’t a good fit for me however it may be a good fit for someone else; I have enough self awareness to realize when it’s time to move on to another organization that will better fit my career goals and needs.
