The flexibility offered in the world of consulting itself is nice. Weekly travel expected If you're new to the industry of consulting, you won't be able to make bonus because the senior leaders use the same 'operations' team members to help pitch jobs. Real absence of women at the MD level or executive leadership level here - definitely feels like an 'old boy network' especially when you attend the annual firm meetings. Bonus structure leads to divisiveness. Absence of a true 'team' atmosphere even though a few leaders are doing their best to create at the very minimum 'staff meetings'. Not enough workload to even reach 25 hours a week consistently. -1.0 NEGATIVE 1.0 2.0 4.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 1200679 Open For all new hires outside of the industry of financial services, I would strongly encourage you to ensure an on-boarding process that includes how to sell the company services in a face to face setting. Simply sending decks doesn't do it. Especially after being there for almost a year. Ensure that on-boarding includes sales pitch participation or an assigned mentor who's job it is to have them shadow said mentor for 2 weeks out in the field. It should NEVER be okay to bring on a new hire and have 'nothing' for them to do for 3 months, even with onboarding, without any interaction with anyone else in the firm besides the hiring manager. Sets a really bad tone and a horrible experience overall. When people do decide to leave, make sure you conduct exit interviews to learn about the associates experience. If you don't inquire, it only supports the belief that the 'company' doesn't really care about the people or "assets" of the company. Excellent 401K matching program. High standards, smart people, but also nice people. Administrative support jobs have little or no upward mobility. Not ethnically/racially diverse enough.
