Be cautious which department you interview for

Employees are allowed to bring dogs. Free lunch catered to the office every day, though mostly Indian food and burgers. Most people on the sales team are wonderful and very easy to get along with. Some of the engineers are really nice as well. The HR lady is one of my favourite colleagues.

A couple of the top management members, unfortunately, are among the most unkind and malicious human beings I've met, and trust me, I've met A LOT OF people, having lived in 3 different countries within the past 20 years of my life. Also, no one will train you on anything about the industry or the products if you are not from the network security/monitoring space - you are basically on your own. This is the only company I had ever worked at where it's considered the norm to not train new employees on the company's product line-up. It shows how unsupportive and selfish certain departments are, but not all.

Now it makes perfect sense why this company has been such a stale startup for the past 12+ years with such little progress made. It is because the CEO continues to invest in the wrong talent for certain departments. R&D/engineering management seems to be a lot better. As for the rest of the management, that's another story.

Close Knit Startup - Good Technical Challenges

Tight knit team with flat management structure and great support for trying new things. Management trusts employees to do the right thing, and will go to great lengths in support of them.
There are always plenty of technical challenges, and the work is rewarding.
Smaller company, so you get to work across disciplines more than you would at other places.
Company is growing.

The interview style was more technical quiz with little discussion of past work or experience. That style of interview is more appropriate for recent college graduates than established professionals.
Rapidly growing company, so things can be disorganized at times.
