The Rollercoaster at Crownpeak

There were some high quality people who worked here. Unfortunately, over time, many of these people left the company. The downtown office in Denver was central and in a good location. There was often the ability to focus on your interests and grow related skills. Also, it was often possible to get approval for additional paid trainings. It was often easy to coast at this company.

Working at Crownpeak was filled with drama. Rumors were rampant about what could happen/would happen, which exec was going to get fired next, whether they would ever increase our pay rate to market rate, etc. It became very exhausting to manage. The Denver office was a ghost town, although of course in covid times this hardly matters. It felt hard to make any progress because the direction mandated from the leadership team was constantly shifting to focus on the new and shiny thing, and the organization could be a case study in poor change management. Pay was not great either - and there were many rumors that women were routinely paid less than men in similar roles.

Opportunities to engage with everyone at all levels of the business
There is now a good cohesion across the company and product lines that took some time to develop but now works well. It no longer feels like 3 separate companies.

There have been a lot of ups and downs and there was a cultural issue in 2018/19 due to extreme negativity of people who weren't able to adapt to the changing company or wait out the inevitable teething problems with merging three companies (some of the earlier reviews demonstrate that). Pleased to say that the turnover of those people has led to a positive, forward thinking company atmosphere.

Some of the folks who have given negative comments may have been driven by a self-serving nature they may have departed negatively or realized they no longer align to the company’s goal, “rewards for success”. I can tell you within the time I have been here, there has been numerous changes that has clearly shown the new direction which the company has taken, and all based on accountability. When I first started, I heard the rumors that this is a great place to relax and make bonuses and get paid for few hours of work. People were rewarded without meeting goals, who wouldn’t enjoy that? Fortunately, not everyone was that way, but it did slow down those who wanted the company to be successful. Thankfully the big change, the realization of accountability on all levels.
Now with the incredible changes in all departments, it has shown where this company is heading, bonuses are still being paid out, however now with supporting data that shows we are meeting and at times beating goals!
Additionally, anyone who is part of this company knows that we have been doing well as a team quarter on quarter from sales to quality. Many companies during the pandemic is facing tough challenges, but this company is growing!

As many small companies, we need more resources, however the executives have shown that they understand the challenges and have adjusted goals to reflect. Pressure is felt, but it’s part of growing!
