It works great, yet requires each employee to possess self-management skills and proactiveness. There is no micromanagement (at least in the majority of the teams). The top-managers' communication is very straightforward and clear. That was extremely important during the corona crisis. That is the wrong place if you need coaching, help with understanding the priorities, etc. There are no planned salary reviews, you need to initiate yours.
