I think the company has gone too far on diversity and it is hard to be an older man in the organization.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Fast paced and demanding, often too excess. If you are in a function that touches sales then I think you give up quality of life.

Toxic work cluster and worst management
|
The work environment is so toxic and the decisions are driven only by the managers not facts. People don't speak fearing the loss of their jobs. If you say yes to the manager not matter what whether it's work related or not, your journey will be smooth and your tenure will be ensured, else even the small mistakes will be highlighted and your achievement and customer's positive feedback will be hidden to the management and you'll slowly be fired from the company. They proclaim that performance review is based on 360 degree view but actually it's not. If you're in manager's favorite's list, then you're the king and your mistakes will be covered and you'll be given additional responsibilities. They are doing lot of micro management and employees are fired indirectly citing bad performance.

The compensation plan is not at market and there is no partner ecosystem nor partner strategy to support pipe gen. Leadership is well intentioned but they just aren’t setup for growth.

high energy, open, collaborative, but flawed business model
|
leaders are open, the culture is collaborative. A lot of high performers within the organization. Almost everyone shows up and works to the best of their ability. A lot of code is open source.
But the consumption business model is flawed. Charging purely based on usage makes sense for providers of universal commodities such as energy (e.g. utility companies) or computation (e.g. cloud providers). But not for software companies.
No business model is perfect. But this model means the growth of the company is not healthy. There was a lot of pressure to get customers to consume. But if you consume too much of the wrong things you get sick.
The product and engineering teams faced dilemmas about optimizing the codebase, because each optimization reduces consumption (temporarily at least).
All this caused conflict of interest with the customer. And lack of alignment with the customer creates friction that slows product development and sales cycles.
