Pay pay pay pay. Yiipeeee money. I am literally here for the pay, working *with* some great fellow legal assistants/paralegals, but nothing else. I’ve chosen the fastest path to retirement.

Day to day tasks are made maddeningly, and unnecessarily difficult, just for the heck of it. Be ready to ask how high when you’re told to jump, while juggling monkeys on a hot plate. All day.

I worked with some lawyers who took the time to mentor me and were smart, kind people.
|
This firm, like so many large firms, is so steeped in its own bureaucracy it is incapable of valuing attorneys for their individual talents. If you are a cis, straight, white man, getting ahead is no problem. God speed to everyone else.

Don't waste your time here. There is a blatant disregard for qualified management in this office. Favoritism runs rampant and poisons the office environment. There is little to no room for actual career advancement because the "managers" are mostly secretaries who have worked at the company for decades. Supervisors overlook complaints rather than find constructive ways to solve problems. Most of them do not value or invest in newer staff, which causes low morale. If you're ambitious and hoping that your hard work will get noticed here, know this before applying: most promotions at DWT are based on friendships, rather than qualifications. Gossip spreads like the plague, which worsens your chances of moving up at the company. If you're a self-respecting professional who cares about a happy and fulfilling career, look elsewhere. You won't find it at DWT.
