I worked at DeepScribe for 1.5 years, and woke up to a termination of contract e-mail on Friday. There was no warning or explanation given. I would not recommend this company to anyone searching for employment.

Low pay and rude management
|
My experience working here meant I was treated like a robot, and any communication with management was rude an impersonal, even in the training. Also, they provided a stipend for completing training by a certain deadline, and I was not compensated.

Productive and high pressure
|
Since it was remote, there was pressure to write as many notes as you could. They started paying based on your Utilization rate so even if one employee took forever to finish 1 note, an employee who finished 5 notes wouldn't get paid as much because they weren't working 100% of the time. Either way, I learned a lot and would recommend it if you want to understand scribing before working in person.

Very unorganized.. be prepared to not be able to claim shifts often with no solution. Termination was without warning and due to “low note volume.” They terminated over 45% of the staff at one time and with just an email and deactivation of all used platforms. Happen while I was in the middle of a shift then said they can pay me because the last few hours “didn’t show up” on my utilization.

They will fire you without warning!
|
Work was slow for weeks and workers expressed their concerns in Slack. Managers reassured us that the lack of hours and notes was because of a slow period, and that work would pick up soon. I received a termination e-mail a few days later and was suddenly kicked off the app and Slack. They were dishonest for weeks and gave us false hope every time. I was there for 1.5 years and only got ONE raise around a month before my termination. The pay is horrible for the amount of work you do and the knowledge you’re required to have. The only pros of working for this company are the experience you gain from scribing for different medical specialists and the flexibility of choosing your schedule.

This company will not care about you
|
You have to fight your coworkers for hours, most weeks I did not get any. Management does not care about you at all, and I never even learned who I reported to after being there a year. There is no training and when you ask questions they usually refer you to a document or don’t answer your question. They lie to their providers and say AI is writing their notes when really its the employees that the company treats with no respect. Please do not waste your time in this role.

When you do get hours, at least they are on your schedule

Good, supportive workplace but a little disorganized
|
The scheduling is very flexible which is super helpful if you are a college student. The actual interface they use for the notes can be buggy which is tough to deal with. Overall it's a great way to get more experience on your medical knowledge.
