private:degreed https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1122864 Dec 7th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Degreed Client Experience United States USA Great Mission, Great Culture on Cusp of Failure - Exceptional CEO and COO - Amazing Benefits, seriously amazing - Talented, Dedicated Individuals - Dedication to DIB, though it's new While growing pains are to be expected, there's a level within leadership that is the root cause of the toxicity that exists - politics, favoritism, gender bias, bullying, revenue over people mentality, not addressing key issues, internal competition, etc. The culture I genuinely believe is truly desired by the CEO and COO, isn't replicated across the whole, depending on what team you're on. And, the HR team is too small to address the problems that exist, despite their severity and that team's great intentions. 1.0 APPROVE 3.0 3.0 4.0 2.0 2.0 3.0 2.0 1122864 Open - CEO and COO should dive in to the issues shared with HR to develop a deep understanding of what's causing the culture to degrade quickly - Listen more to those directly involved with clients day-to-day to hear their perspectives - Eliminate those perpetuating toxic behaviors, no matter their role or tenure - Recommit to culture by doing the above, and being 100% transparent about what will not be tolerated - Re-org and be clear on the scope across each department to minimize internal competition, teams stepping over one another 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 0.0 Jan 24th, 2021 07:40PM Jan 24th, 2021 07:40PM Degreed

private:degreed https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1122864 Oct 6th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Degreed Director, Enterprise Sales Tampa, FL Please put your money where your mouth is. Remote workforce? One small check for a home office set up. When is the last time you promoted a woman in the sales department? You preach internal mobility, yet it feels impossible for women to be put in positions of leadership or achieve a well deserved promotion on the sales team. Also, why the hell is anyone on the sales team still using MacBook Airs? Those machines cannot handle the daily, rigorous tasks of someone on the sales team. -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 0.0 NO_OPINION 3.0 1.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 1122864 Open Go above and beyond for your employees in sales. private:degreed https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1122864 Sep 24th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Degreed Software Engineer Brazil BRA Lying is part of the organizational culture. Remote work that can generate a good work/life balance. - Subpar processes, people and technology - Lies are a normal part of the daily interaction. You hear in one day how you are doing a good work, and two days later you get fired for poor performance. -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 4.0 2.0 5.0 1.0 3.0 3.0 1.0 1122864 Open 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 1.0 Jan 24th, 2021 07:40PM Jan 24th, 2021 07:40PM Degreed
private:degreed https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1122864 Sep 18th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Degreed United States USA When it comes to scaling and management, it’s time to grow even just a little beyond the startup mentality. Remote, Education Benefit, Health Plan Equity isn't embodied in function. -1.0 NEGATIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 NO_OPINION 8.0 2.0 3.0 3.0 1.0 3.0 2.0 1122864 Open Because of the people and the product, Degreed has the potential to be an incredible organization. I’m incredibly grateful for the relationships I formed there and took away with me. Degreed’s strength is in the talent on the team; the weakness is in avoiding the employee experience and valuing the needs of the people. This is worth anyone considering before joining, especially if they are entering with anything less than a VP or Director title. * No established or communicated processes to support advancement, lateral movement, or compensation increases. “Drive your own career” is not met with an equitable support system to provide an opportunity for enabling that philosophy. The loudest make it into the favorites. * Structure and training are lacking for effective and appropriate team management. Objectives and accountability are inconsistent across the org. Managers are not challenged or provided the opportunity to up their people management skills. * Communication, when it happens, isn’t followed up by consistent behavior. The org strives for transparency but lacks - leaving much of the org wondering the “why” behind leadership strategy or lack thereof. There have been major opportunities to build trust that have been avoided. * The HR team is led in a way that prioritizes protecting the org but doesn’t support the People (this activity is likely compounded by exec strategy to keep the HR headcount lite for too many years). Because of the labor involved, they are often the resistant block between advancing equity in the org. * Obvious executive priority for Sales but lack of value for culture or connectivity between other functions and contributions. There are contributors across the org enabling success that is ignored and their expertise around their own need to support that success is not prioritized. * Growth strategy lacks growing all the areas of the company required to support that growth. Work-life balance is not possible for many areas of the org - especially when the org thrives on a culture of scrappiness. * Constructive feedback or criticism around lack of inclusion is not received well by leadership and is replaced by requests to focus on their intent to achieve gender parity in hiring. There is nearly zero focus from leadership on being an inclusive organization in function until it is an emergency situation - and even then, ineffectively because it is too little, too late. The inclusivity factor is an illusion beyond hiring. Culture survey responses are not considered in strategy. Degreed won't burn down because of these issues - but there are limitations on its success by ignoring them. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 6.0 Jan 24th, 2021 07:40PM Jan 24th, 2021 07:40PM Degreed
