A majority of the staff is young and social (kickball teams, ping pong table, the usual Millennial office perks). The office space is well-lit and beautiful (exposed brick, hardwood floors). Sitting / standing desks for all staff. Dogs in the office. Delphic is an active member in the Philly tech community. Because of such a young staff, it feels a bit like high school sometimes. Bullying and favoritism is demonstrated and condoned by leadership. If you're not accepted or "in" with the "cool" crowd (sometimes including certain members of leadership), it's a struggle to succeed. Leadership is weak on people management and concerns about managers are either ignored or poorly addressed. Delphic is undergoing a lot of growth, which often feels like growth for growth's sake (and to boast revenue milestones). There is no investment in long term infrastructure, which results in a lot of staff frustration and high turnover. Delphic likes to celebrate its perks (kegs, ping pong tables, dogs in the office, casual workplace) but these perks are not enough to make up for an often toxic culture. -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 0.0 NO_OPINION 3.0 2.0 3.0 2.0 4.0 4.0 2.0 827430 Open Listen to and *trust* your employees! Fast paced agency with plenty of perks: standing desks, loads of coffee, fruit, snacks, and beer for the taking, discounted gym membership, yoga in the office on Wednesday evenings, dogs in the office, and team events. Everyone is passionate, intelligent, and invested in the work. Fosters a "work hard play hard" environment. As with agency life, the client comes first so there are times of urgency, long hours, and stressful meetings. They do a good job of having lots of perks to help balance the good with the bad. private:delphicdigital https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=827430 Apr 4th, 2017 12:00AM Open Open Delphic Digital Philadelphia, PA Work Hard, Play Hard Delphic Digital is a fabulous place to work. While it does have growing pains to adapt to its nearly 40% employee growth year-over-year, leadership is quick to adapt and implement solutions to ease any tensions. The perks are great, with sit/stand desks, a kitchen stocked with various coffees/teas/pretzels/fizzy water, bring your dog to work policy, 100% maternity leave coverage, summer Fridays, team outings and happy hours, work from home options, flexible schedules, and casual dress code. Above all, Delphic is set apart by its super collaborative and open communication style. All ideas are brought to the table, and seriously considered. At Delphic, you truly have a voice. The PTO policy is 3 weeks (15 days), which includes all sick and vacation time. After 5 years, it becomes unlimited time off. It would be nice to see the standard 3 weeks change to 15 vacation/personal and 5 sick days, where the sick days roll over to the next year. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 827430 Open Keep the communication open with employees (like you do at the monthly team meetings). private:delphicdigital https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=827430 Nov 7th, 2016 12:00AM Open Open Delphic Digital Account Manager Philadelphia, PA Opportunity Knocks for you at Delphic! I had the great pleasure of getting my start at Delphic right out of college. After that, I was given the opportunity to mold into different roles and test out what I was good at. I witnessed the company go through a complete re-brand (previously Delphic Sage) and saw them grow from just under 20 employees to now over 50+! This agency continues to retain great talent and produce great work, all while promoting a great company culture. Management is open, honest and helps guide you along without giving you all the answers. I am very proud to have called myself a "Delphie" and still talk about my experiences there to this day. As with all fast-paced, growing agencies, there are pain points and at times stress levels get high. However, with an open communication style, there wasn't much that surprised me along the way. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 827430 Open Keep doing what you're doing... Agency was growing and with it came a lot of new opportunities. Management was incredibly supportive and encouraged me to choose my own path based on my interests and abilities. This type of support is unlike any other I've seen in the industry. - Management recognizes and compensates for the hard work of their employees - Encouraging, educational environment - lunch-n-learns, certification training, etc. - Advocate for growth and career development for their employees - Flexible work/life balance - Carb loaded often - Dog-friendly - Casual 'start-up' vibe allows for a stronger team dynamic Just as any in the industry, agencies experience movement and growing pains at times so any new face will need to be agile and confident in your role/abilities. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 4.0 4.0 4.0 4.0 3.0 4.0 827430 Open Continue to recognize & empower your employees. They're your biggest fans and will continue to fuel the great agency and business you've built. 0.0 [] No No 0.0 Jan 24th, 2021 08:07PM Jan 24th, 2021 08:07PM Delphic Digital Consumer Services
private:delphicdigital https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=827430 Aug 31st, 2016 12:00AM Open Open Delphic Digital United States USA Depends if you like Kool-Aid. It's interesting how three extremely positive reviews for Delphic pop up right after one that is pretty unfavorable, but it's also not that surprising. It actually is a perfect example of how this company operates, and the very skewed perceptions that employees have about this company depending on your personality, point of view, or department. Of the reviews on here, "Not the Agency for Me" and "May Be OK for Millenials" gives a good insight on how you will feel about this company if you're not really drinking the Kool-Aid about agency life. If you're a 5-star LOVE MY JOB reviewer, most likely you are the type who thrives/enjoys this type of enviroment. In terms of agencies, Delphic is pretty average/comparable, and to someone newer to the workforce, their offerings and "perks" probably seem really unique and attractive (dogs in the office, beer on tap, free yoga classes). With expensive stand-up desks, free bagel Fridays, and team-building activities on the reg, it definnitely has a start-up vibe to it. There's a major faction of preppy "Work hard, play hard" people who seem to live and breath this mantra and perpetuate a very basic girl/guy culture within the organization. Then there are the ones who "get it," like the one reviewer said. These people are also good employees, but they're not motivated by the same competivie and showy stuff that the Work Hard/Play Hard group is. (A lot of these personalities also vary based on deparmtnet, and the experiences that you'll have with this company and with management definitely relies on what position you're applying for). Because there's such a personality variance among departments and staff, this place is still trying to figure itself out, who they are, and what kind of employee they're trying to cater to. I also think these opposing personality types are apparant in the management, which is probably what provoked one of the more recent reviewers to say the management has a Jekyll and Hyde qaulity. Again, I think on the quality of the management depends on the person and their department. There certainly are a lot of decisions within the company made based on ego and emotion, which in some ways is a reflection of the ownership of the company (there is truth in the fact that the two owners have EXTREMELY different personalities, and the one is definitely more overtly amped/tempermental, although I'm sure they both have their moments of that). Regarding company "growth" and "growing pains": that one is tough. In the time I've been here, it seems like there is a never-ending shift in people's roles and responsibilities, with a lot of people changing departments, accounts, and positions at any given time. Some of this can be chalked up to an individual's personal growth within the company, but more often than not, it just feels like a disruptive knee-jerk reaction to whatever fire is currently trying to be put out. It's no longer surprising if a team structure, a project strategy, or the mindset of upper management changes dramatically and suddenly, just when you think you've gotten a handle on the last round of changes. If you're young and new to the game, chances are you won't really be affected by these things, or probably won't care too much about them. If you're a "work hard, play harder" type, you probably also think this is just part of the game and are happy to oblige it before heading to the company happy hour to throw some back. But if you're mid- to to upper-management here, or have more direct dealings with mid- to upper-management, or you've watched Office Space, then you'll probably see through some of these shenanigans and most likely will roll your eyes at the Delphic "flair" pins they excitedly pass out as company swag and will decide pretty quickly to only to stay here for a couple years before moving on to bigger and better things. tl/dr: Whether or not you like this place will depend a lot on your personality and the personality of the department/manager you'll be working for. Some people will love it here and want to stay for years, some people will be happy to move on quickly to a place that caters to a more sophisticated work operation. Unreliable management, constant changes and restructures, lack of communication between departments which causes inconsistencies and duplicative work at times -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NO_OPINION 9.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 2.0 2.0 1.0 827430 Open Stop trying to bury your bad reviews and take some time to realize why they're being written. 1.0 [] No Yes 0.0 Jan 24th, 2021 08:07PM Jan 24th, 2021 08:07PM Delphic Digital Consumer Services
