Empowering and Consistent Studio
There is an intentionally developed and maintained culture of low-ego/blame that focuses on solutions and processes rather than faulting people.
There is an emphasis on knowledge sharing, openness, and learning. As a studio that has been around for more than 15 years there are a lot of experienced people and past decisions to learn from.
There are many different kinds of engineering tasks that are a collective responsibility, so you are exposed to many types of problems and the leadership makes an effort to enable choosing some of what you would like to work on.
There is no pressure to work overtime. They encourage use of time off. There is some choice about when you start/end your day.
While the company has some existing flexibility in structure and direction, there are fairly strict limits to these, even if they do not work for you.

Great Place to Work
Demiurge is full of hyper competent, passionate people who treat making games as a job rather than a privilege that might be taken away at some point. You trust everyone (including upper management) to do their jobs well to a degree I haven't experienced at other companies. Everyone cares about what we make, but not at the expense of our home lives. It's great.
If you want to make something other than Free-To-Play mobile games, this isn't the company for you. It's also tough to find upward mobility in such a small studio.

A Wonderful and Innovative Company!
Demiurge is a very warm and welcoming workplace. Working on top of the line mobile games, such as Marvel Puzzle Quest, is too much fun.
None to mention! I highly recommend taking a job here if you are offered. It is a great collaborative place.

Pleasant experience working with Demiurge Studios
I had a brief contract with Demiurge a couple years back and it was a fantastic place for a tester to learn the ropes of the game industry. I was surrounded by smart, kind, helpful individuals. Even as a temp tester, I felt like I was a part of the whole team and never met with any disrespect from seasoned developers. I was required to do a very minimal amount of overtime and felt that the expectations were reasonable. Overall, we had fun while getting our work done well.
It's a smaller studio, so there isn't a lot of room for growth into other roles or to stay full-time if you're on a contract for a specific title--though I'd argue that you can attain valuable skills to bring elsewhere.

You wont change the gaming industry, but you'll still have a life.
Demiurge's most unique feature is a very deliberate attempt to minimize crunch time for employees. Most of the people working there are great, and the senior management in particular were some of the best I have ever worked for. They own the company and they have never taken a dollar of VC money, so they shape the place as they see fit. Anyone can pitch something and have it heard. They really value people for their individual skills, and seem to care about their employees.
You'll work on bad games. They do outsource work, and they take contracts that wont risk their no-crunch thing. Thus, they end up doing games like Medal of Honor Airborne. The company will probably never get huge because they are afraid of taking risks. They are all happy to be working in games and will never make the big risks to become a major developer, even if they have the talent. One of the owners is absentee--in SF--and you can sense the weird tension that creates.

You guys are smart and talented. Take the risk and aim for the big time. Divide your employees in to crunch exempt and crunch employees. Give the crunchers a financial stake, and try to make the games you've dreamed of.
