Ruined the drone industry before it had a chance to be successful

This is one of the worst run companies I have ever worked with. Their office is in one of the most expensive corporate centers in America and they pay garbage, is there a relationship between the low pay and high corporate overhead? Definitely! The customer service reps are awful: not friendly and obviously know nothing about flying a drone or the work of operating a drone, they are insulting with their advice seems like they don't even read their emails. The jobs are underbid and completely out of scope for the time and energy the pilot has to put in to complete it. There is no pay for not being able to complete a mission, despite how complicated it is or if there is something the pilot cannot control, their downer attitude for customer service reps who seem to not realize they are dealing with actual human beings, its pathetic. For pilots this place is the worst, don't waste your time, you won't break even and they don't care about you despite you being the one doing all the hard work. They should be ashamed of themselves honestly.

The position is great, the company and ethics lacking

The position itself, and its responsibilities are excellent. The pay is mediocre, compared to expenses. If you get work nearby, it can be profitable work. You have no benefits, however. They train you to contact support if there are any issues onsite, but support does not answer, leaving you to fail jobs within the time frame. Job requirements per request, are very high. If even one is not met, you are unpaid and doing extra overtime for no compensation. High Risk, Low Reward. Most co-workers have left and do not recommend it. I've been lucky to get semi-local jobs; keeping my expenses as low as possible. At the time of this review, I still have not received pay and am unsure if I will or not. All because the weather changed in the midst of my work.

The only downside is that they don't have enough work to make it a full time gig. It wouldn't work as a long term career for me because my goal is to design UAS systems that are cutting edge. Right now I design UAS systems for competition racing but I want to take that knowledge with my degree from Embry Riddle and go work for a tech company. In the meantime I would like to continue to work as a remote pilot. I am just not getting enough work from them. They don't have enough work to give. That's all.
