It’s a wonder this company is still surviving. Pet project of rich white men who really have no enthusiasm or desire to drive this company forward. Dead wood senior staff certainly not there for their ability with the international team being a prime example. No foresight or ambition.

Sales management has been a joke for years. Zero growth for last 5 years yet sales mgmt never gets blamed, always the sales team. Missed the market direction several years ago and passed by competitors.

The people at Echo are really wonderful, nice to work with and engaged to make a difference. There is a passion about education.
|
The company leadership can't get out of their own way. They tend to follow the latest bright, shiny object instead of focusing on a plan. The CEO is extremely dedicated to education, but does not truly understand his customers and how/why they buy. The COO is very bright, but is all too aware of that fact and thinks he knows it all. The sales leadership does not understand the market and has no idea how to "lead" vs "manage" a team. Marketing has way-too limited resources and generates zero market demand.

The products are interesting and have some real potential. Many of the employees are highly skilled and knowledgeable. Very customer focused.

Huge divide between upper management and the rest of the company. Upper management is the stereotypical "old boys' club" and the best way to get ahead is to be a yes-man and work overtime.
The company has shrank over the past few years and has lost many good employees.
Products are rushed to production without thorough testing.
Struggling with profiitability.

Bad quality control on software and hardware, focused more on raising money and making money than understanding their customers, rushing features to market before fully tested, chasm between upper management and the rest of the company, trying to create a Govt revenue stream without a sound plan or leader for the effort., Ineffective leadership with lack of experience growing and managing a Tech start-up. Almost all the original staff have moved on.
