Used to be a good place

Management seems to be letting fear be their motivator. Lot of talk about adapting to change. But what change no one knows. No opportunities for upward mobility or diversifying talents while hand wringed into taking more and more responsibilities. Lot of empty fluffy talk from upper management little clarity about where we are headed. Becoming more hierarchical with more and more people joining the ranks of spend your days 'talking' fluff and fewer people left to do the real work. The ones who are doing the real brunt of work, being squeezed more and more. Hiring people not fully qualified for task and forcing existing employees 'lead' them to basically hand hold them through their tasks while doing their own work also. No uniformity in company about promotions among different departments.

401k match is only 4%. Providing advice is an ancillary responsibility of the role. An advisor's real purpose is to generate leads for planners while minimizing the amount of money that rolls out the door as clients discover our investment strategy is essentially a Target Date Fund with a higher fee.
Sales goals have increased drastically and management uses that as justification to deny raises/bonuses for those "not on track" after they've moved the goal posts.

Retention is a cruel metric by which to judge advisors. 95% of cancellations are due to investment performance, competitors/outside planners, and lack of control, none of which are influenced by advisors. A client's choice to end that relationship should not impact my compensation.
