At its current size, the cons of working at Quik! are what you might expect at many small businesses. For example, while employees have the opportunity to grow personally and professionally, that does not always translate into the ability to "climb the corporate ladder" in the traditional sense of greater title/prestige/recognition over time. Also, priorities and roadmap can change quickly and sometimes unexpectedly, and shifting gears so often may frustrate people that expect a firm long-term plan.

1. Relaxed and caring culture, but highly driven - You get the chance to work with amazing, kind, and smart people who tend to not take themselves too seriously. There are many different personalities, but everyone is easy-going, making it a fun environment to work in. Still, everyone is driven with the same goal of doing the best work that they can.
2. Growing company - There is room for advancement, and the chance to advance is made available to everyone equally. Innovation is highly valued.
3. Management is open to feedback - Management is always available to hear me out on anything I have an issue with, and earnestly tries to solve the problem. I don't get my way all of the time, but I am always heard.
4. Great work/life balance - No one is required to work overtime like at a lot of tech companies. You can make your own schedule as long as you are producing. When requested in advance, I have never been denied vacation time/personal time off and when I have been ill, I always get well wishes and genuine concern which is always a great feeling, especially when you aren't feeling well.
5. Personal improvement - Further education, personal improvement, anything to help you grow professionally is encouraged by the company and they may even offer to sponsor you. You just have to take the lead on it and ask.

1. Not necessarily a con but you have to be self-motivated. If you aren't a self-starter, then this is not the place for you.
2. Steep learning curve - Each position in the company requires a lot of learning and it can take a long time to get up to speed. You also have to have a good memory.

1. Keep on NOT micromanaging - that is a huge benefit to Quik. Most of us have a huge workload and we care deeply about producing, and we produce a lot. We can do that because you respect us enough to give us some freedom in how we do our jobs.

Has potential, but so badly managed

Interesting software, which although somewhat antiquated has a lot of potential. As a result, upward mobility is achievable.
|
There is a flavor of the month approach to management, and learning on the job approach by management. As a result, there are no building blocks, and things change constantly, not for the sake of improvement, but just for the sake of change.
