It's all about the number. It is a shame that a community college is more concerned about keeping bad students happy so they won't leave. The same holds true with pressure to make sure all students pass, no matter how much they deserve a passing grade, or what the grade is that they actually earn.

Very little room for academic discourse. It's a college, so obviously that's a problem.

I worked at El Centro in varying capacities for 8 years. I quit after an incident involving pay. All part-time employees were given a raise, which was reflected on our time sheets. This raise was then rescinded and our time sheets altered to appear as if a raise was never applied. We inquired with human resources, who told us only new part-time employees and full-time employees would receive raises, as the longer-tenured part-time employees did not "deserve them." They told me and several of my coworkers that if we wanted a raise, we should find other jobs. So I did.

Mandatory ID checks on the way in (seriously, if a security guard doesn't know you after 5 years, they're not very good security guards), and still fourteen policemen were shot, five of whom died. So obviously, they're serious about that security.

Working there was the most enjoyable until the end when management start not caring about their employee's and stop backing them and begin putting unqualified. staff over you lost my job because i was a female in a high position
