Full-Time Office Staff United States USA Interesting and Dymamic Great people to work with (both office and field staff). Interesting and dynamic project work, no two projects are the same. Working with well-known large companies, often with the opportunity to interact with c-suite level employees. Travel is part of the job and can take you international. Team atmosphere that fosters independent accountability and growth. Some flexibility in working hours. Office could use a remodel, but location is good. Workflow ebbs and flows depending on the number of clients. When very busy, atmosphere can get hectic and stressful (other team members jump in when they can). Anonymous New York, NY Terrible work environment Travel during field work, usually within the US but sometimes abroad (although usually you don't have much time to explore the place) 1. Management bullies others, at times explicitly, and other times implicitly. When these issues are taken to the higher ups, their solution is to fire those who "complained" 2. Even though you are officially allowed an hour of lunch break, as well as 15 mins in the morning and 15 mins in the afternoon, they get angry if you take longer than 15 mins to get lunch, and expect work to be done during your lunch hour. 3. Racist and sexist comments made casually, then defended by males "we were just joking, come on" 4. A lack of proper HR personnel to help employees deal with concerning issues 5. The company has been taken to court a few times over issues mentioned above, yet nothing changed. 6. Though it is small, it is relatively diverse in gender/sexual identities, nationalities, ethnicities and religions. It is small, so promotions are infrequent. United States USA Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain Office staff and field staff are some of the most interesting and talented people I have worked with. The flexibility inside a range of hourly, part-time, and field research positions have attracted an inspiring pool of skill and diversity that could be celebrated as the foundation of the company's core product. These employees have provided me with lasting friendships both at work and play. I have had the pleasure of getting to travel, domestically and abroad, with many fellow employees, and they are certainly what keeps a person wanting to stick around. It's a satisfactory place to be if you can stick to either part-time or field staff positions and do some traveling, or if you can wear blinders and are looking for some flexibility while you're building something else. Verbal abuse and stressful environment has been increasing over the years, modeled largely by the founder and CEO and accepted by the COO. Founder and CEO has been the subject of formal complaints and motions toward litigation with regard to sexual harassment, inappropriate workplace language and name-calling. Multiple complaints against the Founder and CEO by women as well as by at least one man. Often a hostile work environment having to deal directly with the CEO. - An historic lack of vision for the company - An inability to innovate and adjust to new technology - Outdated methodologies and lack of willingness to innovate - An historic absence of any business plan, either in the short term or long term - Lack of leadership and integrity from the CEO and COO - Rampant lack of trust and respect for CEO and COO - No departmental budgets, no plans for spending, no plans for where to invest time and resources, - Lack of understanding of what makes them competitive... ...have all contributed to the company's increasing financial hardships and rapid employee turnover. The CEO and COO have cut the HR department entirely, and have left the employees without the support of someone with any HR training nor HR experience. Employees are left at risk, and the company is left in a vulnerable position as well, with an open door to all sorts of legal and ethical implications. Pay is fairly low. Little interest in investing to keep the best people onboard. No consistent policy in place for employee performances reviews. Performance reviews have historically been avoided in concert with avoiding discussions over requested pay increases. No known history of having paid any employee severance upon being laid-off, no matter how many years they were an employee. They deserve a management team that has the leadership skills to lift people up and produce a positive and productive work environment. Project Manager New York, NY Great learning opportunity but management is frozen in time and there is limited growth potential - Go-getters will enjoy a lot of responsibility. It is very rewarding to own your projects and client relationships - Opportunities for domestic and international travel (though you usually stay outside of main cities and traveling many weekends in a row can get exhausting) - In certain circles the name holds a lot of cache & there is great client exposure - Management is extremely risk adverse. The world of shopping (path to purchase, retail environments, consumerism/ownership) has drastically change but the methodology has not evolved with it. Even worse, there is no appetite to evolve - Hours can be long but most find the work rewarding - Pay is shockingly low relative to the level of responsibility you have. Envirosell is a great place to work if you are just starting out or need some quick money doing part time (in the Data Dept or on the field traveling) but you will quickly out grow your position. Some of the staff is really cool to hang out w but there are quite a few who will be fake nice to you or only when they need something from you. The office is in a decent location (Union Square) so there are a variety of lunch options and after work spots in close proximity. There is also great travel opportunity (domestic and international). If you are part of the Project staff there is great networking potential with clients who work for big name companies. The management can be passive aggressive. Big time personality clashes. If you are on the receiving end of someone's sh*t list who is in a position of power, they will make your life miserable. There is not much room for growth.
