Most employees are friendly and hard working. Management is very poor, changes strategies constantly and doesn't take care of it's employees even though it boasts about doing just that. 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 0.0 3.0 5.0 3.0 3.0 3.0 2.0 1130923 Open 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 20.0 Feb 6th, 2021 11:09PM Feb 6th, 2021 11:09PM ESC Grenoble
private:escgrenoble https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1130923 Mar 12th, 2019 12:00AM Open Open Grenoble Ecole de Management FULL PROFESSOR Grenoble Dynamic and friendly Great freedom for research (as long as you publish in CNRS A and B ranked journals). Better work conditions than in French Universities. Excellent students (academic level eq. to LSE). Sometimes bureaucratic and disorganised. Colleagues try to enroll you on their project but do not finish it. Teaching abroad can be time consuming as much coordination is involved. Emphasis on gamification at the expense of teaching intellectual rigour and responsibility for own projects. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 4.0 3.0 4.0 4.0 4.0 3.0 1130923 Open Good job on the whole! Please allow more autonomy to academics, aim for a self-governed community of academics. Beware of the mushrooming rise (and cost) of administrative functions. Perhaps best to have fewer well-paid administrators, than plenty who are badly paid? Beware of staff burnouts, these are both costly for the organisation and onerous for those who are left to do the job with limited manpower. 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 1.0 Feb 6th, 2021 11:09PM Feb 6th, 2021 11:09PM ESC Grenoble

private:escgrenoble https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1130923 Dec 2nd, 2018 12:00AM Open Open Grenoble Ecole de Management France FRA Act First, Think Later Entrepreneurial culture, flexibility for working hours, culture of innovation, really nice faculty & staff, interesting students, beautiful workspace, reputation growing in prestige. A leadership that wants to be in touch with its employees, but is not in touch. An ingrained culture of promoting from the bottom-up has its advantages for mobility, but only for those who are 'in-house' trained and lack the formal international qualifications that others have. This means that those at the top are often displaying insecure and defensive positions when working with those who have more formal qualifications (and who may challenge them). Although the school promotes mindfulness and economic peace, the top leadership does not display this in practice very well, based on a multitude of observations. In fact it makes many of us very uncomfortable and cynical to hear this and then to see unequal and unfair treatment on the inside. There are a number of cases of burnout and work-related stress leave, and this is not by chance. The focus on mindfulness and well-being at work is part of the syndrome of "the shoemaker's children often go barefoot" --- we preach something and are specialized in something that we desperately need to practice ourselves. The top management is focused on its social media image and grooming itself for future glory...but somehow it seems to acknowledge that it's not equipped to truly practice mindful management. Hence the doubling-down on the theme in everything it does. Like a mantra, the management team perhaps thinks that if it repeats the word 'mindfulness' it enough, it will become a reality. But it's got a long way to go in terms of behaviors that prove that it's more than just discourse. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 3.0 4.0 3.0 3.0 2.0 1.0 1130923 Open Look at people in the eye when you talk to them, display kindness and benevolence to people in actions -- not words. Be ready to take criticisms more gracefully from those whose salaries for the year are not even equal to your annual bonus. Uphold and support your managers to prevent in-fighting, tell people what you think directly to them instead of in meetings where they cannot defend themselves. Work on being at ease with yourself, in order to be more at ease socially and with your employees. Make everyone feel valued, not just the people in your immediate entourage or those to are your courtisans seeking your approval. People are working 24/7 to make the school successful, and each person deserves to feel safe and valued. 0.0 [] No Yes 0.0 Feb 6th, 2021 11:09PM Feb 6th, 2021 11:09PM ESC Grenoble
