Good but could be better.
|
|
- Had the opportunity to work with some amazing people!
- Great solution overall.
- Generous PTO
- Summer Fridays are amazing!
- Leadership team is flexible and understanding for the most part.
- Management does their best to be understanding & supportive when facing any personal/health challenges. (Personal experience, would be unfair to say otherwise).
|
- Small teams hard to manage vacation coverages.
- Employee Benefits aren’t the greatest. I know I incurred an astonishing amount of medical expenses that were not included in our group benefits.
- Salaries aren’t on par with the industry & market standard but there can be a trade of given the work life balance to some. However, justify in today’s economy.
- Changes that only impacted my role, income and performance. Unfortunately I just couldn’t bounce back.
- Other posts are not wrong regarding the lack of team activities but that’s to be expected in a completely remote company.
- Not all departments were given the same type of attention and investment which is unfortunate.
- The goal for the team aligned on at the beginning of my time with EM changed over the course of the two years which I strongly believe could have been avoided in certain situations. “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.

- Do your best to bring the leaders from across the world to spend a couple of weeks working in person with their teams!
- The world is cruel and messed up place, now more than ever. Take a look inside and make sure the people impacted feel supported by their teams.
- If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Change is beyond important, however, it is not always the right solution. Change can have a negative impact on consistency which unfortunately may not always be recoverable.
- Keep the processes simple for the sales team, provide them with the ability to get answers and help within a couple of hours. While ticketing systems help teams stay on top of tasks it also delays the process of getting answers which is not ideal when trying to pull in deals and meet quotas.

I am working with amazing people and we are solving real world problems.

Due to limited team sizes we are able to move quick in decision-making, but miss out on quick execution due lots of projects with only few people.

Something to consider before applying
|
|
The workplace fosters a generally positive atmosphere, with kind colleagues. The remote nature of the job allows for considerable flexibility.
|
Being a part of a smaller company comes with its challenges. The limited margin for error, particularly in sales, leads to frequent job changes and a certain degree of fragility. The absence of prompt replacements and a lengthy replacement process when someone leaves places additional workload on existing team members, ultimately affecting individual performance and evaluations. Face-to-face interactions with colleagues are infrequent, and growth opportunities are scarce unless vacancies arise.

A place you go to learn not to grow
|
|
The biggest pro about working at EventMobi is the coworkers. They are all trying to achieve a common goal and are supportive when you need help. It's also a completely remote job, which is nice if you have kids or a pet. Overall, a good place to START your career.
|
I would like to caution intermediate or senior candidates from working at this company, especially if you're thinking of leaving your current position or taking a job at EventMobi over somewhere else.
1. Management: This really was the most disappointing. Originally, there were some great 'veterans' that had left and the culture really took a hit. Now it's all micromanagement. Even if you are a top performer, you do not feel that you have job security and will struggle to hit the overly ambitious quotas.
2. Product fit: This is so important- There are plenty of companies out there that do the exact same thing EventMobi does at a cheaper price and with less hiccups. There's always "work arounds" and the product often doesn't align with the customer’s expectations. This often leads subpar experience and many new customers have trouble getting the support they need and paid for!
3. Expectations: The only way to hit your numbers is if you are extremely lucky and have something large fall into your lap. Even if you have a high close rate you're going to struggle unless you stumble upon a miracle.
4. Pay and Compensation: Know your worth! The base pay here is way below industry standard and the comp plans are very thin.
5. Collaboration: There is a massive disconnect between Sales and CX. The sales team has to sell and the CX team will jump on them any chance they get. If a customer has a tight deadline it's on sales to make that happen. The Customer Success team often complain constantly about what they are being paid to do! This leads to sales being scared to sell any sort of services because they understand the backlash they will get for something completely out of their control.

1) Start listening to the AE's and AM's working on the front lines with customers everyday. During 1:1 meetings maybe start providing actual feedback and insight on how you can help your colleagues.
2) Stop penny pinching your sales team. They are the heart and soul of this company and are treated like a piece of meat.
3) Stop with the constant turnover
4) Hold other departments accountable for poor customer experience. Most of the times if not always, it's the Customer Success team that drops the ball.

Amazing People.
Great Solution.
Work from Home.
|
- The management team genuinely lacks a people first approach & feedback is rarely taken or actioned.
- The pay is insulting, the base is easily $10K to $20K less than the industry average. If you do well they will change your compensation package & provide you with a deluded reason that doesn't make sense. This is coming from a handful of individuals who have experienced it and later resigned from their roles.
- High Employee turn around, zero investment in team activities, zero support from leaders unless its regarding a sale
- The marketing team is nonexistent, client facing one pagers are beyond outdated and embarrassing.
- Registration team makes it difficult to get answers or let alone guidance on what to do. They also pretend like they own the universe.
- HR process is non-existent. A colleague of mine needed short term leave due to on going medical challenges which impacted their performance and instead of helping they showed them the door.
- They watched and let go of some of the best talent due to their lack of financial stability and ability to provide livable wages.
- Pricing structure is of a premium product which is unfortunately not the case here. They charge 20-30% above their direct competitors providing the same features.
- Feedback & career development is non-existing. The only times we see employees getting promoted is before they fire someone, this has happened numerous times over the past 3-4 years.

1) What was the point of buying RTW? It did nothing other than anger RTW clients & bring in weak, unqualified deals.
2) Invest in your Employees, especially your sales team. Additionally, find a team of leaders that can grow a sales team rather than passing the blame of their failures onto their teams.
3) Stop under paying employees, if you can not afford the industry standard then find investors.

cross functional teams are situated around the work and the management structure is poor. Department managers are promoted based on tenure and not qualifications

I have an interview with Michelle Morante after applying for an account manager position. I have over 10 years experience in account management and over ten years experience in Event planning and over 10 years experience in sales. I had an interview with Michelle Morante which I thought was excellent. She told me at the end of the interview that she would be "endorsing me" to the hiring manager. I took that as she was going to recommend me. She told me she would get back to me in a week. After a week I followed up with her as I had not heard back yet. She did not respond. Three weeks after the interview she finally sent me an automated email saying they would not be moving forward with my application. I then sent her an email back asking for feedback as to why. Given the amount of experience I had and how well the interview went, I wanted clarity on why I was not selected over other candidates. I never heard back from her. Very disappointing as I was a great fit for this role. Their loss.
