If you are white or asian, great place.
|
If you look at Linked in you will see about 40 employees, however staff is down to about 23-25 from a high of ~110 about a year ago. Massive RIF over the last year, which adversely affected woman, people of color and LGBTQ employees more so then the straight asian/white staff. But don't take my word for it, look yourself.

What investor lets the founders keep their day job??

If you are reading this it either is for historical purposes or the company somehow has survived the down turn. As I write this, the company is winding down, having already gone through 3 RIF’s. I’m not sure what the “April 1st” review was about, other than some cruel April fool’s joke. So what happened and what you should look out for if they are hiring in the future? Two things, the two founders. While the CEO was good and I liked him, it was the behind the scene activities these two engaged in that distracted the company. They never were all in, both keeping their University jobs and academic approach. I’ve been with a number of startups and I’ve never seen investors allow founders to keep their day job. So if there is a re-org, and Everactive continues to be an ongoing enterprise, that’s one of the things I’d look for. As a person considering working for them, it’s the spirit and hunger of a startup you need to be looking at. It wasn’t there in EverActive 1.0
