Co-workers were amazing people. I learned a lot because I had to take on multiple roles.

Management has no idea what they're doing. Just about every two years half of the company gets fired. Then the owner brings new management and the cycle starts all over again. Those left standing are shattered that people they care about are gone and expected to pick up the workload of multiple people. They purposely low ball on salary. The salary is at least 7k-15k off averages no matter what department you're in. You want to survive at this company? Become family. Because even if you don't know what you're doing you'll be given a Director title and even if you fail at your job at least you won't be part of the next culling.

The coworkers are great, there is a relaxed atmosphere. With initiative you can learn a lot and are given the opportunities to do so.

There is a ceiling to how far you can go. There has been a lot of turnover in the last few years which has caused the direction of the company to change a few times.

Good employees work under a lot of pressure

A lot of good friendly people around, sport time everyday and decent salary for the location.
|
Wrong agile implementation. Also execs have hard time making decisions with high confidence. There is always a lot of new projects based on just someone's dream. No one seems to be focused and fully knowledgeable about the market and it's potentials. Also there is no product team, all features are being defined by marketers and agile teams (management advices), so obviously not much research happening. Not a good place to grow.

Stop listening to marketing and sales as your major advisors in the company, they should be there for different reasons, not to override others. Focus on a single path at a time, and let your talents show themselves, trust their guts and keep the attitude positive, EE can't go anywhere unless you trust your best ones.

More than just a job

The best part about Experts Exchange is the environment. Yes it comes with expected pressure to perform as any jobplace, but it's paired with a sense of support and community that is rare. We don't work ridiculous hours and many of us find time in the day to be active. Experts Exchange is a company that you can feel cares about it's employees, and the employees also care about each other. There is a bond between company and employee that I have not experienced anywhere else. If you've spent any time on the California Central Coast, you'll understand why Experts Exchange fits perfectly here.

The salary is not big city money, but you also don't have to live in a big city and deal with hours of traffic.

Decent workload, very nice co-workers and free lunch on Fridays. Pretty fair benefits and the company is located in a beautiful city

The management can be annoyingly stubborn.
They are always changing features (UI, company direction). It seems like the managers can't figure out what they are trying to do with the company. This is causing financial issues which makes the future of the company look bleak. It's a bad time to join or stay with them.
