Great Team & Mission
Exygy's team is the reason I've stayed for 5+ years. The team truly cares about each other and has helped me grow as a person. Exygy's focus on EQ and collaborative culture is unlike any other place I've worked. Working with people who care about equity and social impact is motivating and inspiring. Unlimited PTO is great too, and going fully remote last year allowed me to move to the beach and stay with the team.
Sometimes we struggle with analysis paralysis and decision making. Our flat-ish reporting structure for parts of the organization can make it confusing to get clear direction, so its up to the individual to be proactive about defining their role and path. Definitely both things we are actively working on improving.

Good people
There are lots of good things to say about Exygy, but the most important is that it is staffed by *good people.* I've never worked at a company where everyone was genuinely nice. There's almost no office politics, no backbiting, nobody looking over their shoulder or trying to cast blame, and no lousy attitudes.
Management works very hard to support employees and give them chances to grow professionally. Employees feel very enfranchised; management makes a lot of effort to include employees on policy decisions.
Lots of flexibility too. You can work from home and/or telecommute as much as you want. Unlimited time off is nice too.
Exygy is a certified B corp, which means we are required to do a majority of our work for "mission aligned" organizations. Typically you have to choose between doing good work and being highly compensated. Somehow, Exygy has found a "sweet spot" where we can work for the global good and still make good money at it.
Speaking of which - the work we do is amazing. In a single week, I can help fight cancer, global warming, and the Zika virus. I'm really proud of the work we do here.
In order to offer a generous compensation package to employees, we can only take large contracts, and most employees work at or above capacity. (For the last 8 weeks or so, I've done 40-50 billable hours per week.) That means we have to turn down a lot of projects that are too small, no matter how awesome they are.
Not as many minor perks as other places, but that's ok, I can buy my own lunch.

Best team I've worked with
I've had opportunities at Exygy to use all my skills and develop new ones, and I have space for being a whole person-- from emotions to successes to mistakes. The culture here is deeply supportive and humbly always striving to be better. The projects and clients are carefully chosen to be mission-aligned with input taken from all team members. From the beginning, I had a spot at the table with everyone else, and that is pretty radical.
As most projects are done individually or in small teams, those used to a large team atmosphere may have an adjustment to make-- particularly in your level and range of responsibilities.

Please continue what you're doing as the company grows, and don't let up on the gas pedal when it comes to being mission-driven. I've seen organizations compromise their identity when a large but not mission-aligned opportunity comes along, and the success is short-lived down that route.
