It's always fun to be around peers who are the experts in their fields. Its mix of an easy-going attitude in our daily work and working hard to beat deadlines for fun projects. The flexibility of our work schedule must be emphasized, important for us with families and other non-work obligations. As long as you log in your daily duties, you're golden. Also, the office location in the middle of San Francisco also can't be beat, which usually leads to pick-up games of disc golf & random happy hour outings! It's a great, tight-knit team of hard-working individuals, and the managers don't hesitate to schedule happy hours and team building events (frisbee golf, woohoo!) which have become great bonding experiences. Speaking from the technical side of things, there is a lot of room for growth, and flexibility of project types (Rails, Django, Node, iOS, Android, etc) so it's easy to either find your niche or take part in a project where you're mastering a whole new skillset. You're also encouraged to take part in networking events or enroll in classes if they're relevant to you. My co-workers are always willing to lend a hand and are thoughtful with each other. We have unlimited PTO which means I never have to worry when I am sick or when I take vacations. The flexibility is incredible, Ive been able to travel to visit family every few months and still work remotely. We do tons of teams events and also volunteer. Our CEO likes to keep employees around and works with us to define a new role if the current one is no longer a fit. We all work hard but not crazy hours. I like that we can propose ideas and things get done and implemented right away. We get year end bonuses which I think is fantastic for a small company and everyone always gets a raise. We are a small office so we don't have ping pong tables etc. We do have an employee hang out room though. We work hard when we're here but the hours aren't insane like some software companies.
