They said they were excited to speak further with me, and I got to the in-person interview. I went to the site, which was a bit different process due to the pandemic, but they did a good job with setting it up. One of the questions asked in the process was "Why should we NOT hire you?" I have never been asked this question before, and felt a bit off-put by the phrasing. It has since been 2+ weeks since that interview, and I have not heard a peep from the company about what their intentions were. I recently see they re-posted that position on LinkedIn as open. The LEAST the company could have done is reached out to me and said "We appreciate you taking the time to interview, but at this time we do not feel it is in our best interest to bring you aboard". Ghosting a candidate that went through the trouble to go through all the interview steps is unprofessional and does nothing to make you look good. I was also never told what the job and training entailed. The training is an absolute joke. They tell you that training is very "fast paced". By fast paced, they mean that you'll be in the classroom for 30 minutes to an hour and then spend the rest of the day watching videos. They make you take a quiz every morning saying it's just to see how much knowledge you retain, but they put so much pressure on you to know the material backwards and front. The last week of training, our trainer went on a week long vacation and our two team leads were gone at a conference half the week, so we had very little support. When the lead came back, he blew through the rest of the training like he was so inconvenienced that it was dumped on him so our trainer could go on a vacation. What kind of company allows a trainer to go on vacation when training is still going on? Very unprofessional. You get very little real world, hands on experience while in training. When you're working tickets and taking calls, a good majority of the issues reported aren't in the study guides, and you have to ask a lead for help, and then they just toss out an answer like you're supposed to know it like old hat. So many of their answers contradict what's in the study guides, it's ridiculous. While the environment and culture is very chill and laid back, it's also extremely unprofessional. We were allowed to wear jeans and sneakers, but so many people looked like they just crawled out of bed and were running around in shorts, t-shirts, and flip-flops. I brought it up to the trainer and was told, "well, they're not supposed to", but yet I saw it every day. Don't let the great pay and hours fool you. This is not a customer service or technical support role at all. It is strictly supporting insurance agents with mandatory software. If you have no insurance knowledge, you will struggle to keep your head above water. I wasn't happy here and left after a month. Horrible training and lack of managerial support. If you are smart and ambitious THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU! Management is weak and easily intimidated by more qualified candidates so they try to keep you under their thumb by ensuring you are not promoted or moved to any other department. The software products are trash and lack luster and constantly break down leaving the poor support reps to deal with angry clients on a constant basis. If you have any confidence in yourself and they see it they will try to find a way to get rid of you.
