Fast pace, lots of moving parts, growth rate is phenomenal, great team culture, opportunity for advancement is there for you to grab. The team sincerely listens to ideas and acknowledges your opinions. It's a feel good story. On top of enjoying the day to day responsibilities, knowing that we are providing health and happiness accross this country is a huge added bonus !
Sometimes it can be long hours, but when you are working at the pace we currently run, the time flies by !

Good Start but a LOOOONNNG Way to Go
The owner, Mike, is super pumped about his business and has LOTS of energy. There is a positive vibe in the office. People are all very nice.
One person at Factor is responsible for all departments which is not good. A full-time project manager is needed badly as the role of PM does not exist there. Catching the giants in the industry seems impossible. Expect the "full on bro" attitude if you are working in the office which includes lots of loud yelling, cursing, etc.

Exciting small team that works extremely hard. Company is extremely customer centric as top initiative is to be absolutely sure customer's are 100% satisfied. Genuinely care about providing the most nutritious meals created from the high quality ingredients!!

Couldn't be happier! Fantastic place to work!
Earlier this year, I did a complete career overhaul. Went from 25+ years in the insurance/financial industry, working in an office, dealing with daily LA traffic, being micro-managed and hating every minute of it. Decided I wanted to work from home to be more available for my teenage daughter. Was introduced to Factor on a contract work basis - converted to full time within three months and have never enjoyed a job so much! Yes, it is challenging but I crave the challenge.
Pros: Fast paced, never a dull or boring moment. The ability to work in a virtual work environment is fun! There's no one looking over your shoulder, but don't expect to be lazy because the team depends on you. You can work in your PJs or from anywhere in (or out) of the country. The ability to wear many different hats within the company. Small team - with a family feel and focus. If you love a challenging yet rewarding job, this place is for you.
Not having the day-to-day, in person interaction with co-workers as most are remote employees across the country.
No co-workers to go to lunch with.

Fun, fast-paced environment on the outside...nightmare on the inside.
The bosses are laid back and fun, and really give the impression that they care for their employees. The office is fast-paced, and full of energy.
There is no such thing as a 9 to 5 day here. You will easily put in over 50 hours a week at the office, and I hope you don't have a social life because nights, weekends, and holidays are no longer yours. Even after leaving the office, the CEO will call, text, email incessantly. While at the office, he will avoid meeting with you and will never give you the time of day, until you are out of the office. As if you won't have enough on your plate, you will also have to take on deliveries, kitchen work, and other grunt work.
If you do not agree with the CEO, he will become extremely hostile. It's his way, and suggestions or feedback will not be tolerated. Stand up for yourself, and you will be yelled at, cussed out, and broken down to nothing.
They do not provide performance reviews or feedback in any way, so you won't have any clue where you stand with them.
Every promise is an empty one. Health insurance, equity grant, bonus potential, "a great learning experience"...they talk a big game and don't deliver.
There is a complete lack of professionalism with these guys that borders on a hostile work environment. They'll smoke their cigarettes right in your face, cuss you out, make homophobic comments, and tear you down and make you feel worthless if you cannot provide them with an answer at the drop of a hat.

Before hiring someone, know what you are looking for and make sure that is clear to your candidates. You cannot constantly change a job's responsibilities and expect the same candidate to be able to keep up.
If you want to help someone grow into a role, you need to be clear about your expectations. Make time for your employees. Give them constructive criticism, and LISTEN to what they have to say.
You may need to consider anger management.
