Very juvenile management with high school type management. Ya got the popular kids the jocks and the tolerated. Middle school behavior is welcome by managers. Got a problem go tattle to your manager who will then make a big deal over something stupid. Watch your back the tattle tales are tolerated and encouraged to make trouble for you. Managers will make a big deal over stupid stuff. Suggest doing something better more efficient you will hear ,well we,ve always did it this way, doesn't matter if it's stupid or costs the company money. Then your a trouble maker, how dare you suggest we change something. Very frustrating, you just stop careing put your head down, do the bare min. And go home. Job to no where if your older. Managers have it gravey most do pretty much nothing they come through criticize your work then disappear or go watch the Sunday football game. Failed to tell me until three months afterward that this would happen. If you’re a managers favorite you can get promoted faster and do the bare minimum of work. They say if you’re in highschool they will respect your school schedule and be flexible with it, but honestly they’re the furthest from flexible with it. Especially with sports and finals. Even if you’re giving them months of time in advance to let them know your availability. Customers will hit on you and for me, personally, it was my first day on the floor alone and I needed a managers help. He was right behind me while a customer was making comments towards me and about me when I was visibly uncomfortable, and kept telling the customer I’m not interested, and the manger just kept standing there, not intervening at all. I started working as a cashier a while back, and even on my first few days, I wanted to leave. The trainer I had just barked commands at me like I was a dog. Things got better from there. The store itself is great, and so are the department people. It was the management that drove most of the current employees away. The manager I had as a cashier was stubborn and rude, always refusing to give people any days off and scheduling them outside of availability. I know at least 2 or 3 cashiers who walked out because of that manager. I have had horrible experiences talking to them, simply because their tone is rude and condescending. Along with scheduling us outside our availability, she would refuse to fix it and suggest that we find someone to take the shift for us. A coworker of mine wasn't scheduled for almost 3 weeks straight, and when she called my manager, they simply said "Well, we don't really need you at the moment." That caused a friend of mine to quit, along with many others. The workplace is okay, and the employees are great, but the management is the sole reason that probably 1/5 of the employees quit. I wouldn't recommend working here, despite the good pay. And don't be fooled by the "flexible scheduling", every time you ask for a day off, you'll get attitude and rude responses, along with not getting the day off. Having to STOP all the time to answer calls, deal with customers and the list goes on. Being alone and working is not supposedly a good choice as I see it. Always SAFETY first! Trying to get my work done and what they wanted was not possible. Possible would be intellectually intelligence’s at looking at the complete picture before judging a employee for doing their job. Management has allot to learn in order to lead, follow to accomplish a successful mission.
