The desire to "teach" adults about equity (while equity is a good thing) should not be about making sure everyone gets the same thing, but that they have access to the same tools and opportunities, free of judgement based on their color or preferences. This point seems to be regularly overlooked, and disagreement with the methods of teaching equity, is perceived as failing on the part of the employee.
