private:fiberneticsclec https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=419804 Jan 21st, 2021 12:00AM Open Open Fibernetics Information Technology Cambridge, ON Slow to adapt, lots of talk, poor execution -Given all of the tools and equipment I needed to do my job. -Generous vacation policy - 3 weeks to start. -Great personal relationships with the staff. Everyone is very friendly. -Had a proactive COVID plan in place for working from home. Fibernetics is an established company that never grew up, and still acts like a startup in a lot of ways. Job titles are made up, and compensation is below average. They use Payscale.com to determine salary at 50th percentile based on whatever title they can shoehorn you into. There was a talk of an upcoming revamp of titles and pay structure for at least a year that HR was working on. To my knowledge it hasn't been rolled out yet. Lots of top level management who are only there because of their relationship (familial or otherwise) with the partners/owners. None of management positions are posted publicly or go through a transparent hiring process. Many of the high level management have CxO titles but not the accountability. Have seen a number of the high level management leave over the last few months. Lots of systemic issues which have been identified but nothing has been done to fix them. Management talks a good game to the employees, but execution either doesn't happen, or it takes forever. There is no owning up to bad decisions or failure. There was a large set of layoffs in late 2019 and work got shuffled around to those left in order to keep things going. Workload is very high and unbalanced, and you'll be asked to take things on outside of your job description, or take on additional work when other employees leave. This continued as more employees moved on - you'll be asked to take on more jobs that shouldn't be yours. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 1.0 1.0 2.0 3.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 419804 Open You know what the problems are but are unwilling or unable to fix them. 0.0 [{"countHelpful": 0, "languageId": "eng", "userJobTitle": "HR Manager", "__typename": "EmployerResponse", "originalLanguageId": null, "id": 2982283, "responseDateTime": "2021-01-28T18:41:33.047", "translationMethod": null, "response": "Thank you for taking the time to share your personal view of your experience. As an agile organization Fibernetics is indeed taking steps towards greater transparency, both in roles titles and pay structure. This sort of project takes 12-18 months to complete, and although it may sometimes feel that slow progress is made, due to the detailed nature of the work, rest assured that this goals is continuing to move forward. In pivoting to an alternative business strategy in late 2019, albeit with an effect on headcount, Fibernetics is committed to promoting internal recognition, and supports flexible work arrangements and work/life balance priorities. Tasks are re-organized as needed and are tailored to the strengths of our team members, and while Fibernetics continues to be a fast-paced workplace, it is one where individual contribution is celebrated, and initiative and results-based performance is encouraged. private:fiberneticsclec https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=419804 Feb 12th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Fibernetics Cambridge, ON Worked here 5 years - in that time there was 2 major layoffs. Pay is in the account on time. Benefits Most people seem to have poor mental health being here. Management structure is picked based upon how good of friends they were with the uppers at previous companies. Lower than average pay for area. No incentives to do better (bonus structure etc). Work / Home life balance is non-existent. All the good people left long ago. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NO_OPINION 4.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 419804 Open What's it matter? - don't listen or care about what makes your employees unhappy despite people vocalizing. Also with 2 major (40+% of the workplace) layoffs in 5 years.. you obviously don't learn from those mistakes either. But hey, the founder still drives his Lambo.. so he's good right? 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 6.0 Feb 8th, 2021 06:47PM Feb 8th, 2021 06:47PM Fibernetics CLEC Telecommunications

Commission structure is joke. Don't expect to earn much here. -Trying hard to implement a company culture- falls short almost always. Empty promises. -Upper Management is not that knowledgeable in the current happenings in the field. private:fiberneticsclec https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=419804 Nov 25th, 2019 12:00AM Open Open Fibernetics Business Development Representative Cambridge, ON Blind leading blind and playing pretend free coffee the bar isn't set high to be a top performer the sales team is mismanaged and poorly run/organized. You have no tools to do your job, the company CRM is full of garbage and is unreliable They essentially give you a phone book and say "here - all these people have phones and that's all you need to know to sell to them" -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NO_OPINION 2.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 1.0 419804 Open I am honestly surprised it took you this many years to look at what the business development team created for new business and factor out inbound requests. Had you done so, you would have seen a team of 10 salaried employees generating maybe 10k in closed-won revenue per month. I realized this in my first 6 months. If management is so engaged as they claim to be, why did it take you so long to clue in and finally lay everyone off for the SECOND TIME Every day at work was like playing pretend, everyone just making false reports to justify their existence 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 2.0 Feb 8th, 2021 06:47PM Feb 8th, 2021 06:47PM Fibernetics CLEC Telecommunications
