Slow to adapt, lots of talk, poor execution

-Given all of the tools and equipment I needed to do my job.
-Generous vacation policy - 3 weeks to start.
-Great personal relationships with the staff. Everyone is very friendly.
-Had a proactive COVID plan in place for working from home.

Fibernetics is an established company that never grew up, and still acts like a startup in a lot of ways.
Job titles are made up, and compensation is below average. They use Payscale.com to determine salary at 50th percentile based on whatever title they can shoehorn you into. There was a talk of an upcoming revamp of titles and pay structure for at least a year that HR was working on. To my knowledge it hasn't been rolled out yet.
Lots of top level management who are only there because of their relationship (familial or otherwise) with the partners/owners. None of management positions are posted publicly or go through a transparent hiring process. Many of the high level management have CxO titles but not the accountability. Have seen a number of the high level management leave over the last few months.
Lots of systemic issues which have been identified but nothing has been done to fix them. Management talks a good game to the employees, but execution either doesn't happen, or it takes forever. There is no owning up to bad decisions or failure.
There was a large set of layoffs in late 2019 and work got shuffled around to those left in order to keep things going. Workload is very high and unbalanced, and you'll be asked to take things on outside of your job description, or take on additional work when other employees leave. This continued as more employees moved on - you'll be asked to take on more jobs that shouldn't be yours.

Worked here 5 years - in that time there was 2 major layoffs.

|
Pay is in the account on time.
Benefits
|
Most people seem to have poor mental health being here.
Management structure is picked based upon how good of friends they were with the uppers at previous companies.
Lower than average pay for area. No incentives to do better (bonus structure etc).
Work / Home life balance is non-existent.
All the good people left long ago.

What's it matter? - don't listen or care about what makes your employees unhappy despite people vocalizing. Also with 2 major (40+% of the workplace) layoffs in 5 years.. you obviously don't learn from those mistakes either. But hey, the founder still drives his Lambo.. so he's good right?

I would honestly stay away from here if career progression is what you are after

Small tight team in sales who understood the issues with the place and stuck around together
|
-Irresponsible management- they mostly use old outdated tech stack. any push or suggestions on improving the process is met with silence or plain ignorance.
-Pay- below the industry average. Commission structure is joke. Don't expect to earn much here.
-Trying hard to implement a company culture- falls short almost always. Empty promises.
-Upper Management is not that knowledgeable in the current happenings in the field. Not the case across departments though.

I am honestly surprised it took you this many years to look at what the business development team created for new business and factor out inbound requests. Had you done so, you would have seen a team of 10 salaried employees generating maybe 10k in closed-won revenue per month. I realized this in my first 6 months. If management is so engaged as they claim to be, why did it take you so long to clue in and finally lay everyone off for the SECOND TIME

-Prices are high in comparison to competitors
-Management loves to act like they have great workplace culture but it couldn't be further from the truth
-Customers get left behind way too often by poor support practices
-Departments don't communicate and just push work off onto each other and don't answer phone calls
-Rarely spoke to anyone from upper management, they are not accessible and tend to do a lot of talking with very little listening if you get to communicate at all.

- you can take breaks or lunch as many as you want
- you can mess up things and nobody punish you for it
- free tea/ coffee/ gym

- no management experience from any of the managers in the company, they just created the titles as whatever they want. They just became manager /director because either they are
family/ friends with the owners or president.
- lack of communication between departments and management.
-low salary pay. there is no pay scale in this company and they don't care if you leave or not no matter how good you are.
-Management are not open to feedback they just listen but scared or not willing to make changes.
