Good place to cultivate and manage business relationships

I liked my work and supporting customers. Company had great potential; very bad execution. Good people leave because they lose faith in leadership, lack of organization, and culture of poor or no communication. There were 11 different sales managers in 5 years, 4 CFOs, 2 CEOs. The turnover in R&D is even higher; mostly due to lack of on-boarding, direction and engineers not knowing and understanding the needs of the legal community. Reactive toward the customers, never proactive.

Dead end job unless you are friends with the VP/CEO
|
File & ServeXpress is a failing company trying to pass itself off as a industry leader. In my 3+ years at this company I saw 1 pay raise (within my first year) despite being a top performer. You are rewarded when acting like everything already works perfectly and demonized for suggesting that more work needs to be dedicated to a troubled area. The company focus is constantly changing to new projects which never actually work as intended on release. Customer Support, the department seen as the most valuable by most other companies as they are front facing to the user base, is treated extremely poorly and not given the tools to succeed.

Intital pay rate is great
|
No advancement, expensive healthcare, no 401k matching, incompetant management/VP/CEO, dozens of employees work remote making communication difficult, the product being supported is riddled with errors and issues

Going from bad to worse!
|
Management has made some bad calls so now revenue is falling and the shareholders are in a panic. Good people are being fired with no notice, others are having their jobs threatened, and sales is being run by a bean counter with zero sales ability and even less personality.
Long-range planning has been replaced with desperate short-term actions, and the outlook is dim.

Management over-commits to the customers, failed to maintain sound relationships with state legal regulators, blindsided by a competitor and therefore went out of business. Had to regroup, downsize services and restart under one of the original founders. Good luck with that!

A bit disorganized
|
Missing tech leadership so tech teams are led by PMs. Overall the company is governed by sales people who sell and then want it done. That creates a chaotic project schedule with missed requirements and adhoc approach to many things. Add offshore and contractors and you don't see any vested interested in how to develop the product properly.
