Staff are regularly screamed at by directors. They like to fire over email and not face to face. Money is the absolute lowest possible. Flexibility in scheduling. Free films major pro. Forget trying to move to admin from floor. Attitude is straight out of Upstairs Downstairs. Floor staff don't even get invited to holiday party. They get sent the leftovers. The atmosphere is generally relaxed - no uniforms, employees are able to be real humans, themselves. Staff is friendly, personable. The best of the "independent" theaters to work at, probably - in the sense of being a worker there. Perks: free popcorn, drinks, etc for employees and reciprocity with many other NY theaters (free movies!)
