Immense learning opportunity with enduring career lessons
|

Having interned for a summer at Financial Profiles during my college career, I cannot recommend the opportunity to work at this company more. The expertise that Moira Conlon and her team have in the investor relations realm is second to none, and the lessons that I learned spanned from the day-to-day technicals of the industry, to superb business etiquette, power of female leadership, and breadth / depth of strategy and analytics.
Such knowledge shaped my next experiences within each of my business classes, subsequent internships, and full-time role in consulting. I owe a lot to my time at Financial Profiles in learning to be incredibly detail-oriented, resourceful, respectful, and ambitious when advising my own clients on financial and strategic engagements.

The CEO has encyclopedic knowledge of IR and financial PR and teaches anyone willing to learn. The more you invest, the more she invests. No question is looked down on and she takes the time to explain. If you want to get better at your job and can take constructive feedback, you’ll do great here. If you can’t, then you may want to look elsewhere. Initiative and looking beyond the immediate task at hand are the tools to be successful.
Biggest Perk: They bring in gourmet lunch once a week and have great snacks.

The firm is growing and with that comes growing pains. This means everyone has to roll up their sleeves and pitch in occasionally. On the flip side, roles are becoming more clearly defined, the firm is hiring and you get to have input.
Overall, if you aren’t a slacker, there’s a lot of knowledge and hands-on experience at this firm.

"It's not an easy job-- but very rewarding"

- The SVPs here are really some of the brightest people I've ever had the pleasure to work with
- Tons of opportunities to learn new things
- Upper management is always looking for new ideas and is open to transformation
- CEO and COO had an open door policy. I always felt welcomed and listened to when I had a concern (ex. I approached the CEO about wanting more learning opportunities and the following week, she flew in a top employee from the San Francisco office just to train and mentor me)
- Most people here are super, super hard-working. Everyone takes on a fair amount of responsibility and it's really encouraging.
- Financial Profiles loves when you raise your hand. Everyone here is very willing to take a minute to answer questions or teach you something new.
- Very generous. CEO buys lunch every Friday and birthday presents for every employee.

- It's top-heavy. More SVPs than junior and entry-level employees, so as an associate supporting several SVPs the workload can heavy.
- Client-services is not a 9-5 job, the hours can get long.
- They're willing to provide training, but you have to take initiative and ask for it.
- The office can be hard to get to. (Brentwood)

I truly enjoyed working at Financial Profiles (not sure about other reviews). This was my first job after graduating college and I am very thankful it was.
Spectacular office location!
The staff at FP feels like family. People made me feel very welcomed. Everyone is supportive. There's a lot of great people at all levels of the company-- many have been working in journalism and finance 10+ years.
Moira, the president, is literally the best person ever! (Very charismatic so prepare to do a lot of smiling and laughing!)
She's extremely attentive to her staff and always concerned about bringing the best out of each person. She keeps an open-door policy and makes sure everyone understands all aspects of the company.
I loved the fact that FP motivates new talent and gives opportunity to grow and development in other roles.
Office kitchen full of snacks! Lunch is served and ordered in every Friday.
Working at FP is both fun and rewarding!
