My worst job so far. Trying to getting things done together with a group of ex-consultants and "influencers" - and some unlucky few juniors getting actual work done. Because as you should know, we have 4 working students/interns and the rest of the team is more senior with a background of either startup, outsourcing or bigger companies. Well I was very skeptical myself. I never write reviews or anything but I feel like I should talk about my experience because it is totally different that what these reviews portray. And it's only right to do so. 1st of all, everyone is honest about the changes that have happened, and how bad things might have been before. And admitting they have had some rough patches in the past just shows that they have learned from their mistakes and are trying hard to change things around. 2nd of all, you are equipped to do your best from day 1, from visa process, to equipment, to documentation and a proper integration. Everyone is super helpful and friendly. You feel taken care of and empowered. 3rd of all, it is so refreshing to finally work at a Berlin startup where the CEO actually knows what he is doing - true he only started a few months ago - but the changes that he and the leadership team have done are incredible! There is a clear mission and vision now - proper OKRs - values and so on. Of course a lot of things still need to improved, but they are aware, open to feedback and working on it. 4th of all, diversity here covers several perspectives (age, gender, sexual orientation, nationalities, etc.) and it's very natural to be different, you feel included from day 1. Also the product is really promising!!!! On the bright side of this, it is quite easy to get decisional power and freedom of action in order to solve things and move on higher levels A lot of confusion, unstructured hierarchy and unhappiness. People are kind and friendly but in the whole no-one really knows what the company is doing in the everyday work and frustration, tiredness, lack of direction are clearly perceived. The management invests a lot on money in useless direction instead of listening to the real needs of its employee, which especially on lower level seem to count less than zero, even if they are the ones making the machine moves. The management promises a general prospective of "we will change the world and make a lot of money", which sounds redundant, empty and unreal. Career-wise is hard to learn something clearly, it's mostly a bunch of knowledges put all together in a confusional way and labeled with a title. Established business with strong customer base. Technology push, moving towards state-of-the art technologies. Fresh management, strong employees and very strong vision. People talk on past time, can feel the personal/company challenges they had to go through. Though this can work positively as I see lots of willingness to work together, lots of potential for a transparent/purpose oriented/work-life balance environment. Management team took it seriously and started delivering all reasonable requests one by one.) * Nice feedback culture. Management team takes feedback seriously and takes an action immediately. * Team events - almost in every 2 weeks - drinks, barbecue or food and chat * New product team personally talk and coach us for professional and personal development. * Great chance to work with so many big customers and brands. * So many changes happened on management level. All bullying and hysteric managers and team members got fired. * Company haven't had a tech strategy and vision for a long time, some team members got exhausted by previous management. * So many team members left us because of hysteric approach of the previous tech management. Due to this fact, the company is still actively recruiting and sometimes we need to spend a time for reviewing the technical tasks of candidates. * There were no enough requirement engineering before.
