Good stepping stone
|
Too much micro managing, harassment on a daily or strong holding, whichever way you look at it. Bottled neck so that you can’t move shifts. Don’t even think about days, 10 to 20 year waiting list. You get by if you are a butt kisses yes man who’s buddies with upper management. Good luck getting with HR if you have a problem, have 3 and can never get ahold of them. Lots and lots of favoritism. There’s only one way to do the job here and that’s their way. Majority of the people working are capped out and shouldn’t expect a raise any time soon. 20 minute lunch break is all you get and you better be back at work otherwise you are in big trouble. Same thing with talking to anyone, don’t, otherwise you are getting in trouble. Leadership is junk, do as I say not as I do. The list honestly goes on.

Stay away
|
Do not waste your time here. Extremely low pay to deal with lots of issues with the job. You're expected to produce high volume of product with little to no incentive. Lots of changes in management from the bottom all the way to the top. You will be treated like a child here. People are leaving constantly, there's a reason they're always hiring for every position.

Great workplace environment with great employees
|
I work from 8-5 with an hour lunch sometime around 12. The times are somewhat flexible as long as you put in your 8 hours. I spend most of my time working on projects assigned to me by my manager and some of my time completing tickets requested by other employees. This company does a great job of looking out for it's employees with benevolent funds for those falling on hard times and company wide bonuses for beating previous sales.

Mind Numbing work environment with high expectations
|
Often ran huge runs of simple parts, sometimes for days on end. Would be required to run 2 or 3 machines, running back and forth between them. Some jobs would have explainable problems that had been known for years.

Don't even apply here!
|
Some of the people are okay. Only 2 hours of overtime can be worked a day if you are asked to work overtime. 20 minute lunches for and 8 hour day. Use your sick time wisely even if you have a doctor's note and you don't have any sick time left it's an unexcused absence and you still get a write up

TFT was a good place to work for but not if your looking for a future with advancement unless you know someone higher up and hang out with them after work. That's the only way to advance there, it doesn't matter what you know or how hard you work as long as you know someone higher up to help you along. The pay for the work you have to do is no where near enough. I went somewhere else and started out making more then what I was making here after being here a few years.

Only those with connections need apply!
|
I worked as a CNC Production employee. TFT is a decent place of employment to start out if you dont have any experience. However, their pay scale is lacking compared to other local companies and as others have stated, favoritism runs rampant through the company. Those who have friends in management or constant butt kisses are those who are promoted or even given a cost of living increase each year. Turn over seems to be very high for employees at TFT. Former employees looking to return to TFT have absolutely NO chance of returning as management holds grudges over the course of decades, even if that employee left on good terms. TFT claims to be a family oriented organization yet many employees can attest that the exact opposite is the case. Management also claims to care about the views and insights of employees but that too is false. It's their way or the highway.....because they said so.

Good company to start at if you stay short term

A good place to start
|
The company will hire people who meet their personality and mechanical aptitude criteria regardless of experience. New hires receive on the job training and there is an on-site training room. Those who do have experience tend to be promoted quickly.
The work is fast paced, though not excessively demanding physically, and quality standards are high which requires good attention to detail.
There are 3 shifts and you are not likely to be put into a day shift position as a new hire, particularly in the production department where it can take 5 or more years to reach days.
The company culture is better than most manufacturing companies in the area as are pay and benefits.

A good place to start, but unless you have connections you won't advance.
|
Task Force Tips has a schedule that worked very well for me. Machine operators work 4 days and are off for 4 days. Which gives a lot of time to get things done and enjoy free time without having to use vacation days. If you're starting with no experience in CNC machines, it's a good place to work and then move on from. Work days are 10 hours long. So, you come close to 40 hours a week and you get time and a half on weekends regardless of hours worked to make up the difference.
However, if you want to advance, you have to be politically connected. Their attitude towards favoritism is that every company has it, and therefore they do nothing to control it or minimize it. That combined with their lack of understanding what constitutes a job qualification can leave you scratching your head when a promotion is given to anyone. They seem to give them out at random or as though they had a reason, but had to make up a cover story afterward because the truth would sound too unprofessional and unethical.
|
Excellent work schedule and good opportunity to get experience in CNC machines.
