Struggling to stay alive

There are many challenges and struggles. From thing that would seem required and straightforward…like benefits (open enrollment didn’t happen until the last week of the year…stressful). People with contractual end of year bonuses still don’t know if they will gat them…4 months into the new year. It is pretty commonplace to not get agreed upon bonuses. They have given people raises just to fire them a month later because it was easier and didn’t let people know they were about to be let go. There isn’t a lot of honesty from leadership and they tend to heavily spin even internal messaging.

Not honest. Limited promotion options. Prefer overpaying new hires to established stand outs.

A Pale Shadow of its Former Self
|
FireMon was a great place to work, once upon a time. In recent years, FireMon has changed leadership so frequently that no one is sure what the company does anymore. Management is constantly coming up with new schemes and organizational changes that never improve anything, but the churn causes tremendous stress for everyone. No one knows anything about what the products do or how they work anymore, and everyone just chases support tickets and tries to keep customers from getting (more) upset.

Texas is destroying Firemon
|
Firemon was a great company until their founder left and they hired CEO's in Texas. The location was not as big of a deal as was the sole focus on sales and not caring or recognizing IT. If you go to work here in IT, be assured that the leadership is weak, the CEO doesn't care, and they will be looking to replace you with someone from Texas or offshore.
