New direction making positive outcomes
After several changes in leadership, the original CEO has brought back the focus required to build a great company. The leadership team in place is stocked with professionals with experience in the industry and in the roles they are filling.
Product focus is another key factor. FireScope was falling behind to just another face in the crowd. New innovation has now put the company as a new leader again.
Until recently, FireScope has had challenges relaying the value of their products.

Beware
There are some talented people in the dev team, but that's about it
Since I left, I have had numerous customers contact me directly complaining that no one from the company returns their support or account calls. Most of the logos they highlight on their website are companies that have long since abandoned the product. They don't pay anyone - expenses don't get paid, vendors don't get paid. Can't count the number of times I was handed a pay check and told that they would let me know when I could cash it... Employees have been locked out of the Dallas office numerous times due to failure to pay rent. I have personally fielded calls almost daily from vendors threatening to shut down services due to lack of payments. Leadership makes lots of promises, never delivers. Amazed that they are even still in business. Leadership expects employees to be available 24x7, and good luck trying to take time off without being called up. The only reason I stayed as long as I did was due to a never ending string of promises, stock that will never be worth anything, some really talented people at the Dallas office, and new CEOs that appeared to be able to right the ship when they first started (only to fail). Beware working for this company, just look at all the other reviews to see that I'm not the only one with this opinion.

Failure to pay, failure to provide income tax data
Wish I had something good to say. Product looked promising at first glance, but once I saw behind the emerald curtain I lost hope.
Subsidiary company laid us all off and took 3 months to cough up final wages. They didn't take out taxes which makes this tax season triple the normal pain level. Also, they still have not reimbursed many thousands in travel expenses.

Beware whether you're a prospective investor or customer or employee
There are multiple good reasons to turn the other direction and run.
Very poorly run. Firescope decided to close one of its divisions with no notice to long term employees. Expenses were not reimbursed for business related travel which had been billed to customers (4 months of expenses), unused PTO was not reimbursed and was then debited from our bank accounts. Sales commissions were apparently unpaid for several months. Lack of communication. Management became more and more disconnected until they stopped communication altogether, most of us hadn't talked with leadership in over a year. For 4 months prior to termination, new work was scheduled and billed to customers, yet we were not reimbursed for business related travel (ignoring company policy and US and UK labor laws). We were not given 2-weeks notice or any of our final and legally owed compensations. The doors were closed while projects were ongoing with no communication to the customers.

Withholding of wages and compensation is unlawful!"

I worked at Pangea Systems full-time (More than 3 years)
Prior to the acquisition of FireScope Inc., Pangea was an amazing place to work. I enjoyed my time there and we had a good thing going.
After acquiring FireScope, management became more and more disconnected until they stopped compensating us and ceased communication altogether. For 4 months prior to termination, Pangea continued to schedule new work and bill customers for our services rendered, yet did not compensate us as per company policy and US and UK labor law. We were not given 2-weeks notice, as per company policy, and our final compensations…

Former Employee

Caution if former CEO still involved with company
Good technical staff and great technology. Customers like the cloud solution.
Have heard new CEO and executives that came recently are good to employees and having a positive affect on customers and company. Have heard they are making positive strides and reviving company.
Rumor is former CEO Steven Cotton was moved away after running the company down and is no longer involved in day to day. The management change at the top is positive.
Even if rumor about former CEO being moved out of day to day is true, having him as the Chairman of the board is not positive for the company and culture or prospects. Many say he will ultimately cause problems like before, as he has poor business acumen. While I was there he was constantly telling others they were wrong and telling them how to do their jobs, when he really had no clue what he was talking about. These actions ran off lots of top talent. So it is important for others to evaluate if he is still involved. This was not good for positive independent minded professionals who want to make a difference.
Others have said he messed up several possible sales of the company and misinformed all involved, so long term prospects may be affected. You should be aware that many employees dislike him and his management style and they say he comes across arrogantly to the customers and does not represent Firescope well. You can see that in several of the Glassdoor reviews.
Tip: If he is still involved then pay attention to the negative reviews in Glassdoor and ask questions, as many have said it was not a good work environment for employees while he was CEO. New management may make a positive difference.

New management should avoid having Steven represent Firescope as much as possible, so they can attract top talent. Even though I have been gone from the company for awhile, have heard that he has a negative impact continually on the company. If positive rumors are true about the new management then continue to do positive things. More positive time for new management needed to recommend again
