People seem to either love it or hate it. Look at the departments with long term employees over the departments with high turnover. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere. Internal systems are nice but need an upgrade Dealing with incompetent managers, poor compensation, no substantial salary increases, routine layoffs. There is no longer the "FA Family". Don't be fooled by the BS. Since the acquisition it's pretty evident you are in fact, just a number here. Best example? The routine layoffs. They are letting go of some of the best leaders we have left in the company. People with tenure, people with knowledge and know- how. People who have completely turned certain departments around and played pivotal roles in flash, knee jerk response, are let go. Why? The obvious answer being someone up there in executive leadership who doesn't know how to forecast and manage budgets. So other people take the fall for their incompetence. What's the point in advancing in your career if you're just going to get fired bc your salary is "too high". What incentives are there anymore to work here when the best sales executive leadership is replaced with a tyrant who only sees your salary as a financial burden to the company and would let you go in a heartbeat the second he gets a chance? If this is your approach, each and every one of these departments will slowly collapse and it's already happening. Leading with fear is not how you run a company and is the byproduct of the acquisition. FA used to be a great environment with knowledgeable staff and has now become completely desecrated by Deluxe. I don't see it getting better as long as that "leader" sits there and continues to make poor decisions to the detriment of the company. All of the best people are gone and what's left (directors, VPs,) are those with zero ambition but to keep their salary bc they're comfortable. They could care less about the vision/future of the company, but to stay out of the way so as not be the next to get fired. The supervisors/managers then get promoted themselves, and create positions for unqualified favorites creating chaos. Favorites have no leadership skills, or knowledge of the positions they oversee to guide staff or answer questions- they shop online all day, sit in conference rooms on personal calls, and they gossip with each other or other staff. If you apply for a different position you can have multiple interviews to intimidate you. You are told your answers aren't good enough, then told you are at a high consideration for the position, but you need to write a letter explaining why you should have the position and beg for it, and are made to promise to stay with the company. In the same interview. You work your behind off, train new employees, are non verbally expected to work off the clock because you have deadlines to meet every day by a certain time, but 2 people who are paid hourly are doing the job of 5. So you both have to find time during the day to complete the work. This means coming in early or working over lunch because you can't clock in. You don't want to be reprimanded for struggling or not getting it done, because that affects your promotion opportunities or future employment- good luck getting a supervisor to help. You deal with the above and still get paid at one of the lowest salaries in the industry. There is no mentoring, it seems most supervisors or managers don't want to see you apply yourself/knowledge and seek promotions. They like to play the intimidation game, and pull staff into conference rooms at no notice over everything (accidentally marking an email the wrong status, being told by your supervisor they are blackballing you to other supervisors if you apply for other positions, etc.) that way the conversation isn't overheard, and is not in writing. Always document, and refuse unscheduled conference room one on ones. If you decide to apply here do it for experience, only if you are new to the industry, and try to stay less than a year. Some people have been there for a long time, but they have power and comfort. Others are not so lucky.These things happened to myself and others who were also frustrated and dealing with such unprofessionalism, it's sad, really. This place punches its staff to the ground, and rewards mediocre supervisors over excellent and ambitious employees. Not LGBT friendly. Hardly any diversity. Then stay away from here Co-workers. Everyone is in the same boat so they are mostly friendly to you. Gym on site Do you like inconsistency per employee in the same department regarding leave time? Some people take multiple Fridays off, but if others ask to leave at 3pm once for an appt they are told it is iffy or can't, even if they have the leave time available and the appt can only be done during the week. Do you like middle managers who bully employees and pick favorites, then get promoted themselves, and still create positions for unqualified favorites creating chaos? Favorites have no leadership skills or knowledge of the positions they oversee, surf online shopping all day, sit in conference rooms on personal calls, threaten their employees because they don't think their employee should be considered for a position in another department the employee IS qualified for, create resentment, and make people grovel for a new position for no reason? Then, your best friends are waiting. The pay is terrible. You work your behind off while short staffed, train new employees, are non verbally expected to work off the clock because you have deadlines to meet per day but 2 people who are paid hourly are doing the job of 5 so you have to find time during the day to complete the work which means coming in early or working over lunch because you can't clock in - good luck getting a supervisor to help because they are. too busy gossiping and shopping online (salary non sales/commission employees in some departments will work 8am until 7pm multiple days a week and then only be told they can come in 15 min late the next day as a " flex" time and if they come in later they get side eye from sups and managers) you deal with the above and still get paid at one of the lowest salaries in the industry$30k. I started looking for another job right after I had a vehicle malfunction dangerously while driving, I contacted my supervisor telling them what happened and that I would be late (I was still coming to work that day, just waiting for a ride) They told me if I was late again or used that" excuse" again I would be written up. I provided proof of the issue, and had to take part of a different day off to have the vehicle fixed. They never apologized and still treated me like I was a repeat offender making up bogus excuses. This is the culture, some of the people may be in different positions or have left, but the culture was always the same. If you decide to apply here, do it for experience only if you are new to the industry, and try to stay less than a year. Some people have been there for years but they have power and comfort.
