Immediate manager was great to work for
Property manager was great to work for, anyone above this individual not so much. Person from Corporate [out of Atlanta] informed me when I 1st started working for this company that they wasn't really concerned about cosmetic (how the job looked after completed) just fix the basic ( make sure everything worked so we can get people moved in ) we'll worry about that other stuff if they call in to complain. I take pride in my work and wouldn't wanta put someone in a apartment that I wouldn't move in. I also noticed they tend to take advantage of people whom seem a little desperate for housing. Also visited another one of their properties in another state talked to some tenants seems this is a company wide problem.

Too much going on
It depends on the property, your fellow on site employees and the regional as to how much you will like it. They manage A properties and D properties. Total lack of training. No one knows who to go to for help. Constant policy changes. I will say most employees with FCM are classier than what you will see in some management companies. They have a great system for organizing move in files, but that is where the overall company organization tends to end. I like that they are closed Sunday, but, they do a super weird holiday schedule where you get a day but not necesarily the holiday. For example, we were open on 4th of July. Oh, they will also secret shop you like crazy. They should put all that $$ they pay for the shoppers into real training. Would be a much better investment.

Too big for its own good
This company has poor management all the way to the top. Favoritism is rampant. This company cares more about the bottom line than about its employees. Which is odd considering they are losing millions of dollars a year they could be saving if they actually had a conversation once in awhile with their property employees. Corporate employees are favored and given better benefits and treatment than the employees actually running the properties. Maybe that’s why they have such a hard time keeping good employees and end up with employees that run their properties into the ground, steal from the company, and quit. Major overhaul in management and policies is needed for this company to survive. They’ve lost many good employees due to their lack of investment.

Very negative and highly stress work environment
Very negative felt like a high school with lots of drama. Property manager was never there and didn’t seem to have a clue what was going on at either property, also acted like you where a burden of you had to ask her for anything.

First Communities don’t support/value you as employee.
Not support at all from First Communities Co., it’s all about relationships with co-workers, e.j. If you’re best friend with managers and regional manager, your position is secured. Managers and regional manager don’t need to be qualified, since it’s all about who is friend of who. In my case, the property where I am now at just got sold and just because I am not best friends with the regional managers I’m about to become unemployed even though there’s open positions same as my current position, so they have their best friend waiting on the position. Lot of gossip, favoritisms, and unprofessional people. First Communities don’t care about how long you have been working there or how well you perform your job, they leave all on portfolio regional managers will. Very sad.
Fair pay, good online trainings, work schedules.

Unprofessional Work Environment
Upper management is very unprofessional and they love to gossip about their coworkers instead of worrying about what they have to do in their job. They do not care about their employees. If you start off in leasing, upper management will view you are less than them because you are not a "property manager" and they leave you to deal with all the conflict with the residents. The property manager never wanted to talk to the residents about issues when they would specifically ask to. They have a lot of turn over and no work life balance.

Upper management issues
Upper management should care more about the staff. Extremely underpaid. The property I worked at in champions gate the property manager was in relationship with assistant . I don’t believe that was policy. I felt uncomfortable a lot .

As a whole, the company has no processes, policies that are clear, break labor and employment laws.
Lack of management and leadership, no employee support, no team. Lack positive communication, apartment manager doesnt motivate team, doesnt follow thru with promises, allows people to smoke cogs and weed in a nonsmoking building, allows nontenants to reside and use amenities on property. Stressful work environment ment.

You get 40 hours a week of work.

Bad company to work for
Management does not care about employees as a person. They want to make money for the owners and FCM. Have to watch your back all the time. No raises, No Support, Lots of back stabbing and brown nosing. If you kiss management ### then you will be alright. Did I mention no pay increases.
Some residents are nice
