Flat is more organised than all the previous companies I've worked for (and they weren't startups). We're still a small team but I think we could scale up with no difficulties thanks to all the processes in place. The name of the company reflects the hierarchy: it is flat. Everyone's ideas are studied in order to make the product better. The CEO really wants to know what you're looking for in your job (do you want responsibilities, do you want to know how business works) and will take your remarks in consideration so you feel better about your life at work. The culture and values are really important to the company too and they will transmit and explain them to you during your bootstrap period so you can understand fully why and how it works like that. As it is a startup, you'll be asked a lot so be sure you can commit to your work. Though, the company is distributed so there's nothing against taking a few hours off during the day. You can totally organize your work time depending on life, rather than the usual other way around. | The fact that the company is distributed (you work from home) can be disturbing at first if you're not used to it, but you definitely won't feel alone as you'll be solicited by everyone.
