Extremely poor management, no path for advancement, cliques matter more than anything else
|
This is an awful company to work for. People with zero management experience get promoted over and over but receive little to no leadership training. Yet, they are put in positions to make big decisions with no oversight. Expectations for employees are either not set or are unattainable. The unlimited vacation is a joke - you’re too busy to take it and some managers will make you feel guilty for taking a day. Leadership regularly pats themselves on the back, but the people actually doing the work get no credit. The bottom line is no matter how hard you work, if you are not part of a clique, you will not do well here.

Nepotistic Behavior Upper Management Useless

Pros: benefits and time off
Cons: ability to advance internally. Most advancements are prioritized to external applicants. Management wants you to stay in your lane until the feel the need to add responsibilities under your job umbrella with no pay raise or title change. Management doesn’t want ideas from anyone in the trenches, very do as I say mentality.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The installer position is more of a construction type job the pay definitely doesn’t meet the demand that is put on installers flight team is overworked and aren’t supplied the proper construction equipment for the job , there is a very high rate of disability and the insurance is in adequate I personally used my retirement insurance when needed. Flight team manager and field supervisors put personal at risk and really are lacking real Training .
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
All training comes from recreated YouTube videos , the job really isn’t a true cctv installers position more of a construction atmosphere hand digging and cement work.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Being lead by people that have never done field work properly if at all and is completely remote.
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Going shopping for materials on the fly at Home Depot to complete over scheduling jobs

Good company but judgmental people
|
Flock Safety is an amazing company overall, but there are some areas that could use improvement. Unfortunately, there are instances where certain individuals prioritize their friendships and overlook others, leading to unfair treatment. Additionally, some supervisors take their job titles too seriously and tend to ignore their subordinates, while the managers could be more understanding. I would suggest providing retraining for supervisors and managers to ensure fair treatment for everyone. On a positive note, the unlimited PTO policy is fantastic, but it would be beneficial to increase the starting pay for technicians. Without the technicians, the company wouldn't be nothing

Work/life balance was great, pay was decent. And the culture was optimistic. If you can adapt to changes here and there you’ll do just fine. Also, you deal with customers a lot, and your usually loved by them because your delivering a great product.

Good pay, lots of time off, poor lower level management

Installation of product that does help make the community safer.
Management in some areas is great, others are the worst of anywhere I have ever seen.
Ask a question or make a suggestion on how to handle and issue and get chastised by management.
Company supports all races, gender and gender orientation. However you are not included in a lot of you are straight.
Pay is the best anywhere around, so you have to suck up and deal with it. Do your job and nothing else. Do not offer any input on how to make things better or you hurt feelings and get called out.
If I had know I was getting into high school drama, I would have never accepted the position.

The benefits and flexibility are very good
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No real sops or plans for accomplishing anything. Communication is not great. Lots of lofty goals without plans of attack (fly by the seam of your pants). Though this is common for startups, it’s worse at Flock.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Can be good, nice people overall. But the management can be very catty and uncommunicative. Lots of issues with things falling through cracks due to this

Can be dead or putting out 40 fires at once. Just not sure what it’s going to be
