If you want to learn a little about msp space here then go to a better company I feel sorry for our customers. The head of our company is nothing but an account manager The VCIO's and Sr. Consultants are not worthy. No support from management it's just push push push to get more revenue from customers even if they do not need it. Our partnerships are questionable. Maintenance Engineer Boston, MA Great Company I will be forever greatfull to Focus for giving me the opportunity to start my IT career after College. It was a bit of challenge to get my first job after graduating due to so many Companies requiring at least 2-3 years of IT experience. After I submitted my resume to a job opening, the CFO called me. One of my question was if they would be willing to hire an newly graduated IT student to start his career, and he said not only they would hire new students but also they provide a good training for them. I enjoy working for this company. There are so many opportunities to grow within. The workplace culture is great, and I love the team who I work with and also the Managers. The perks? We get a monthly free in-office massage, social events, company outings, and etc. I would recommend Focus to anyone, especially the recent college graduate students. Information Technology United States USA Great staff but abyssmal on boarding and management I started here a little while ago. The line level people I met were very nice and welcoming The problem is with the onboarding process. I come in and my manager is late, or sometimes not even here. I have no direction on anything, what to study, when I can go for a lunch, I haven’t even been able to meet all the people I work with daily. HR is basically non-existent here. I’ve spent the last few weeks doing nothing. United States USA Fantastic Company to Work For - Opportunities for Growth - Wonderful People - Excitement Every Day! I'm a current Full-Timer at Focus. I've been with the company as it is only a short while, as they bought the company I worked for not long ago in a merger/acquisition. All together I've been with the combined entity for 4 years. The biggest PRO, in my opinion, is absolutely the talented team of individuals I work with. I work in the technical side, and I read some of the other reviews talking about Salespeople and liking drama etc, etc. I believe you get out what you put in. On the technical side there is a ton of collaboration, helping one another figure things out. Cross-department teamwork is commonplace and encouraged... as long as nobody takes advantage of it. Another PRO is the social aspect. We have had some fantastic company events! This summer Focus took us on a private boat cruise to George's Island for a Lobster Bake and Lawn-Games party that was a ton of fun!! We've had a few nights out at restaurants for drinks/apps and everyone has a great time. Of course everyone wants more pay. Damn, I do too. In fact, I just got a promotion and salary increase and my (very smart) manager made 90% of it bonus-based-on-performance. So base salary is below market, sure... but I have the opportunity to earn close(r) to where I'd like to be if I work hard, which I do. Also, I appreciate that they promoted from within the company for my position as opposed to hiring outside. It definitely saved them money and "ramp-up time" and gave me an opportunity to move up within the organization. A WIN-WIN. GROWING PAINS: With the merger there was a lot of talk/plans and some of it fell to the wayside at first until cold-hard reality kicked us in the butt. Once thinks got to a point that was "bad enough" that enough people made enough noise, however, I have to give it to the executive team... they took swift action and did what they needed to do (and should have done before it got to that point in the first place.) We are still dealing with some "fallout" from that "error" but hey, nobody is perfect. These guys did come through in a BIG way when it came down to it and I absolutely respect and appreciate that. Some employees simply should "absolutely, positively, NOT" be in the positions they are in. It is obvious to pretty much everyone in the organization that they do a terrible job whether it be a lack of training, lack of the correct skill-set, lack of interest/effort, not caring enough to be/get better, and in my opinion, mostly being arrogant to the point of not being able to see their lack of skill-set in their position(s). (And varying degrees of combinations of these). There are only a few cases of this... but it's like some weird taboo subject that everyone whispers about and nobody addresses directly. I don't understand why the people with power to do something about it do not make some changes.. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 1.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 249439 Open Regarding my last CON: --->Make the appropriate changes. <--- You guys know who is messing up constantly. And you know who is trying to slide under the radar and collect a check for doing as little as possible, leaving the rest of the team to pick up the slack. Letting this stuff go on not only makes us look bad to the customers when it is customer-facing, or affects business when avoidable "screw up" after avoidable "screw up" negatively impacts the entire business and it's processes (again and again and again...) and finally, when someone in your team is just a general disgrace to honor and principled business in general. We are the Good Guys, remember? Let's keep the White Hats on here and make sure the whole team are "white hats" as well. All three of the examples above not only hurt the business with customers or business process, but we employees *ALL* see it as well... and it is frustrating for us. It's a morale killer. The whispered conversations amongst the ranks at the front lines take a negative dive when this stuff is allowed to go on, and on, and on.. and nobody does anything about it. We count on our leaders to handle that stuff... and lose faith when it's left to fester, like Cancer, in our organization. Seriously. Oh.. and you have an AMAZING resource who has devoted himself to this place, done everything asked of him, excelled at everything given to him beyond the wildest dreams of his managers and peers. His review came around and he had been PROMISED a Senior position and Salary by someone who changed departments before the review. Now, at review time, he was denied those things in favor of NEW HIRES who were hired as Senior positions.. *all of whom* the guy runs circles around. ALL of whom he has to teach things to on a daily basis (basic things) and ALL of whom he surpasses in knowledge and skill a hundred-fold. The reason he was denied?? The real reason? The MS P&L sheet. An INJUSTICE has been done. FIX that. It's crucial. You risk losing one of the best resources/employees this company has over a number on a paper... make the guy feel like he was slapped in the face after he' given his all?
