Awesome team all around
Extremely focused and productive team. Executive team is very in tune with goings on and critical to the success of the business. Hard work is recognized and rewarded.
Like all companies, there are some not so great managers. Management training and selection should be prioritized more.

It's alright
Really solid product, customers love it. Offices are pretty nice, free snacks/drinks and all that stuff. For the most part, the technology stays current and there's a drive to keep the product cutting-edge. There are some smart people to learn from, too. Benefits started to get a little better after the Boeing acquisition.
Some people are great but there are definitely cliques and certain members of leadership with a lot of hubris. Future is a bit uncertain in terms of the company's independence. Boeing is getting its hooks into more stuff and the founders won't stick around forever. It's pretty hard to advance or get raises now since everything is process-oriented with the objective of keeping salaries down.
If you're a pilot or really into aviation it can make up for some of the downsides, but if you just want a software job then you can definitely do better.

If you're in a hurry to go nowhere, you're in the right place
They'll hire anyone who's willing to do the work
They have no idea what they're doing.
The code is awful they sold out to Boeing because they literally couldn't improve the product anymore without serious dough. If you want to work on a product from the 90s....here's your opportunity!

Poor Management
Great location in Maine, could be a really great technology company. Wonderful people at the "worker" level.
Extremely narcissistic management, making real advances in the company impossible. Their navigation head is known to be confrontational, but nothing is done about it.

Would never leave
Great benefits, great work environment, competitive salaries, bonuses, the vacation is not accrued from your start date it is just available, paternity leave, good leadership,
Depending on your job not much movement upward, but compensation reflects time and skill.

Friendly people, great perks, interesting work
ForeFlight is an innovative place to work. Although the company makes aviation software, you don't have to be a pilot to work there. Compensation is competitive and perks include free drinks, and snacks, Fridays off in August, flexible work schedules, all Mac and iOs work environment, great offices (Austin is getting a new office next year and the other locations were recently renovated and enlarged).
The coffee is good and the employees are fun. What more could you want?
Sometimes we work pretty hard when there is a push to meet a deadline, but I don't mind long hours when the work is interesting.

Very confusing place to work
Rockstar status in the aviation world. Very well received. Awesome work from home capabilities. The laid back atmosphere was also nice.
THere was an overwhelming sense of disorganization. Onboarding was a mess. Showed up for my first day to locked doors and no one knew I was coming. Sat in the break room for hours until someone showed up that even knew my name. Then during my tenure, people would just get fired. When speaking with these people, most had no idea what had happened. The place has a cliquish environment. Went to many trade shows (on my own time) and felt like an outsider. The two founders could not be more different. That's ok...except one is very condescending and promotes this cliquish mentality.

Stop the knee-jerk reactions. Make sure you look at all the information before making a desition that affects an employees future. Understand that so many employees are so proud to work for a company like this.
