Depends on what you're looking for
|
If you have education and career options before coming to this company you probably won't want to stay too long. All of management has been in position for a long time and thinks the same way. It is very difficult for them to accept ideas that are outside of their way of thinking.
For others, it is a great job if your career alternatives were dead ends. They have good perks and a relaxed culture. If you like to come to work, punch a clock and leave it's a good place to work. If you're passionate about what you do and want to really make an impact this isn't the best place for that.

Good place to pad your resume for a few years depending on your position but there’s rampant nepotism and eventually your path to advancement will be blocked by a relative of the owner or a friend that has been there 25 years already.

Basically if you're not a relative of ownership, or of management, you have a disadvantage. If they have it out for you, they make it difficult on you by enforcing loose practices.

They were very flexible with everyone personal life as well. They had a great amount of company functions. They had a lot of stuff for employees to do there such as a gym, and free lunches from time to time.

Great deal of nepotism at this company but still a nice atmosphere, they believe that education isn't everything and that you can create a good career through them. Do not compensate for degrees if you are working at the company the time they are received, even if they are in the industry and field. Favoritism is common. Very relaxed atmosphere, casual dress.

Quiet workplace with nice break room
|
The workplace was decent. Very quiet and relaxed for the most part, but management was a bit down your throat about your work, and they didn't really understand what I was doing because I was IT and they didn't really know anything about IT. The place felt like a start-up, trying to to get into the swing of things. Many of my coworkers didn't really know what was going on and didn't have much clue about the big picture. My team members were all rather inexperienced and young, which didn't help a younger employee like myself very much. Most things on the job were self-taught. It was a nice place to work for a summer, but I wouldn't have liked to have been there much longer than 6 months.
