Solving a hard problem
|
|
The mission is clear and we're solving a really hard problem in hourly work. Culture has shifted to a higher standard which has gotten us some major wins with our new products. Remote work with benefits that are pretty good compared to my last job.
|
I questioned the sustainability of the business over the last year but feeling motivated by some recent progress.
Good colleagues are a hit or miss. Managers and HR have laid off a lot of low performers but some of the OGs still remain. There seems to be higher standard for new hires which has led to big differences in speed and work quality between the old hires and people who joined in the last 1 1/2 years.

Not worth it
|
|
* Great Colleagues
* Remote WFA
I enjoyed working at Fountain a lot but sadly, I couldn’t give a more glowing review because there’s a lot of issues that stacked up for me over time that were unacceptable.
|
* Career growth is limited and based on favoritism
* AI and automation replacing departments solely to save money may compromise quality
* At Will Employment
* A history of reckless over hiring and spending
* The ‘People Team’ lack any empathy and communicate negative news appallingly
My biggest concern at Fountain was always the future and stability of the company. They’re making a lot of cuts in departments because there’s clearly a concerning lack of growth in attaining customers, especially retaining existing customers which has shrunk significantly since I joined. The Fountain Hire product is clearly on the way out and if their new multi product offerings fail then I truly think it’s game over folks.
Also, the harsh truth is that longevity at Fountain is determined by your popularity. If you’re an excellent worker but you don’t actively network internally, too bad, you’re not going to survive at Fountain because you’re not making everyone aware of your ‘value’.
Career progression is also a mixed bag. I have seen plenty of promotions during my time but you also don’t see those same people lasting very long in their new roles. Sadly, people are also promised the world when it comes to career progression, only to be let down and nothing materializes.
In its current state, I would not recommend Fountain to anyone. It’s not worth the stress or anxiety. The job security at Fountain is non existent because of the company’s poor performance in recent years. Worst of all, Fountain is very ‘at will employment’ heavy with its decisions.

Poor Management
|
|
Good remuneration and benefits based on industry.
|
CEO and VPS are lost not insterested in building any culture, retaining talent and pretty much no one has a career path at Fountain…
CEO acts like as spoiled kid that has money to spend but no plan at all contantly changing strategies and this affects everyone under him.
Engineering and product have middle aged man worried in being cool and following trends rather than worrying about people and culture
If you want somewhere to work for 6-18 months go for it but this is not your long term project;
Basically the new trend is to get read of everyone and replace people with AI - good luck retaining your clients based on this.
