When my original VP left, the new guy who is now the CEO chased out most the sales folks to fill the positions with his previous co-workers. I just learned he has now laid off some of the hardest workers.

Flexible hours and generous PTO.
|
Even though the leaders claim they finally found the path to the future, there is confusion in every step of projects. There is no project leads anymore, and the company is suffering a tribal knowledge system not because the employees don't document their work, because there is no solid documentation system in the company. The leaders are saying different things every month and they keep changing the team on Sr levels. If you are just out of college, it might be a good place to learn but I won't invest here for the future.

FreeWave can be a great company. The company is now led by Kirk Byles who was previously the VP of Sales. Kirk is an amazing leader who expects excellence and has the customer's best interests in mind. I would not have rated this company positively with the previous management, which is why I gave the company fewer stars.

Limited resources and a big appetite
In the past, employees were required to take 2 days of PTO when the plant closed during the end of year holidays. Ask about this if you are interviewing. Hopefully this will change.

The company doesn't have any downsides/issues that are unique to FreeWave. These issues include:
Often reactive vs. proactive
Resource constraints
Lack of documentation
Shifting priorities
In the past FreeWave suffered from poor management. There are many negative reviews about the company which were accurate at the time. This reputation still follows the company even though that company no longer exists. There's new staff, leadership, products and direction. I've never been happier at FreeWave.
