It was a good place to start but as i advanced in my skills it was a pretty dead end job. current management is terrible. They belittle our skills and education. Co-workers were the best part but that can change fast. Extremely high turnover. No worth it if you have any nail experience.

Overall a fun & fulfilling job
|
There’s always going to be drama and issues that come up working in the beauty industry. However, I feel like we’ve been able to express them to the owners and it gets addressed and worked on. The clients we get for the most part are amazing and let you express your creativity. There’s no harsh smells and chemicals which makes it so much easier to do 8 hr shifts cause you won’t leave with a headache. Overall, there’s issues from time to time but I don’t know a job that has no issues. If you need a flexible schedule they are usually very accommodating.

The professionalism of the company.The people as well as the clients are great people with an obvious high self help and self maintenance character.

Owners have no respect for their employees. Over worked under paid
|
Current owners/management have no respect for any employees. They will fire anyone over anything, even it is just because they don't like you or if they can tell you don't love them. They lied on the job posting saying you will make more than you actually will. Always adding more work to the font desk or nail tech job requirements without a raise or higher compensation.

Bad Management
|
Liked working here good money and clients were super nice and flexible schedules. Management was awful however, almost a complete staff turnover within their first year of managing, no one stayed for over 6 months before quitting, terrible communication, and very disorganized, constantly checking my paystubs to make sure they were correct. I’ve head the same about other Frenchies locations as well. Weird company policies and rules. Pitted employees against each other by ranking everyone to see who does the best. For some this might be an amazing job opportunity but it was not the one for me.

What is the best part of working at the company?
No strong smells. The customers were pretty nice and usually tipped well.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The coworkers that got the manager fired because they didn't like her. They tried to bully people and if they couldn't, they just overly criticized the work to the owners that knew absolutely nother about what went in the salon.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Its a toxic environment and the culture only works in favor of a few people
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I'd get customers that magically ended up going to people who were friends with the concierge, I spent most days in the back sitting or having training sessions with the "top" people

Got the Experience
|
Overall, the clean concept of having a nail salon with educated nail technicians is wonderful! The most enjoyable part of the job was getting to know clients, getting to know my peers and developing relationships with one another.
The hardest part of the job was managing the daily ins and outs of what the owner wanted or expected without much communication or clarification.
Workplace culture at the beginning was great, but it became more non-existent as many everyone became out for themselves due to spying on each other and this was based off how owner ran leadership. It created a high stress environment which didn't make it a happy place to work.
This job would be "ok" for a starter technician with no experience with working in any salon, but I wouldn't recommend unless there's a better work culture and new structure to how management/owner leads their people. There will be lots of turnover if things do not change.

definitely don't expect to be on the same pay level as your peers, they will low ball you if they can. don't expect to be in the loop about changes or expectations as everything shifts regularly and isn't constant. you'll be pushed to work as many hours as possible. all-in-all great for newbies to the nail industry as it meets expectations that you've been taught in school. this is not a company where you can "climb the company ladder" regardless of your effort or the amount of years you put in. ownership is always changing and turnover is high. very indifferent in regards to getting to know you as a person, as they only see you as a tool for profit.
