Great Place to Work

I joined Fresh Water Systems several months ago and left an employer that I had been with for my entire career. I had reasonable doubts as to how such a transition would go but I have had such a wonderful experience with Fresh Water thus far.
I have been able to develop great relationships with my team-members and supervisors and enjoy coming into work each day. The people here are so easy to get along with. Regardless of one's title or team - people are approachable, friendly, and engaging. That goes a long way into shaping a positive workplace culture where employees can thrive and ideally, build a career. Each day stays busy and then when the business day ends - you can truly leave work at the office.
Overall, it's a company that's doing a lot right at the moment. I would have no qualms about recommending employment at Fresh Water to my friends or family!

My Favorite Job

I decided to join Fresh Water Systems because of one word: transparency. Throughout the recruitment process, the hiring team was forthcoming about what I could expect if I accepted an offer. Before my first day, I received a document that clearly outlined my business goals and how I would be evaluated during my reviews. Since joining 4 months ago, there have been no surprises. I have been given the trust to perform my job without being micromanaged. Although I have been given a high level of independence, I have felt supported to take on challenges without fear of a punitive response if a failure occurs. In addition, I have benefited greatly from weekly 1:1 mentorship meetings with my direct supervisor. The longer I have been here, the more I enjoy being a part of this team.

The company culture and people at FWS are incredible. The company is making moves towards bigger and bigger accomplishments and everyone is getting to be a part of it. FWS has a new CEO who is doing a tremendous job leading while driving a more collaborative team environment. Leadership and Colleagues alike really care about each other. The team is pretty spirited when it comes to celebrating birthdays, holidays, and individual and team achievements which makes for a fun work environment. The culture of the company is starting to change for the better and it is an exciting time to be on the team.

Fresh Water Systems has a great atmosphere. However, the culture of the company is scattered. Management needs to be more effective and the owner needs to be more in tune. Especially, for the best interest of the company’s future.

Pay is above average. Hours are convenient. Comradery is outstanding. If a fellow employee is going through a rough time, everyone pitches in to help out any way they can. Also Fresh Water Systems gives back to the community. Every year they partake in the Angel Tree for the Children's Hospital. And through out the year they donate to different organizations such as Habitat for Humanity and local Food Banks. Even when it comes to FWS catering lunches they try to choose local businesses (mom and pop type places).
Fresh Water Systems is family owned. The owner, wife, and kids work very hard to make this company successful. They are not the type to "sit on the rear and just watch the money come in". And when it comes to their employees, they treat them like family. Some days during the week everyone is invited to have a get together with them outside of work. They acknowledge birthdays and anniversaries. They know everyone by name, not only employees but their family as well. They truly care about the people that work for them and their health. Nutrition classes have been provided and a gym was added.
It sounds like some of the previous reviews were from disgruntled employees who were possibly let go for various reasons so I would suggest to check this company out for yourself as some people only give reviews when they have something negative to say. And those people also often forget details especially if it involves what lead to their leaving or termination.
