One of the standout aspects of G2 Europe is undoubtedly its people. The team is comprised of dedicated, driven, and engaged individuals who contribute to a fantastic work-life balance. The HR team deserves commendation for their exceptional work on benefits, including Vitality, Benepass, learning development programs and more.
The previous positive culture, unfortunately, took a hit under the current General Manager. However, with their imminent departure, there's a palpable sense of hope and excitement among employees for the prospect of new, experienced leadership. Here's to bidding farewell to the LinkedIn reign of current GM mates and welcoming a new era.

G2 seems to have shifted towards a profit-centric approach, which is reflected in the approach to move customers that don't spend enough money to a support team based in a different region, those "low spend "customers no longer have a dedicated support team. The inadequate compensation for its staff is another major issue management is of the option that if you are not happy get your belongings and go. The apparent existence of a LinkedIn boys club, where certain individuals receive higher salaries and preferential treatment, has created a noticeable disparity. It is crucial for G2 to transition towards a more merit-based system and address these discrepancies. To revitalise the organisation, it's imperative to bring in new outsiders leaders who can inject fresh energy and perspectives. The call for diversity is crucial, especially in leadership positions. G2, on a global scale, has witnessed a concerning exodus of female employees and leaders, pointing to a significant lack of representation. The organisation needs to actively hire leaders based on talent and experience, rather than relying on connections and friendships. In EMEA, specifically, there's a plea for local leaders who understand the nuances of the region and can contribute to making G2 EMEA great again. G2 Europe also needs London based leaders. Hiring leaders with diverse backgrounds and experiences will not only enhance the work environment but also ensure a more inclusive and innovative future for G2 EMEA.

G2 has a new CEO and CRO, that have the power to make a real difference.
Please foster a culture of inclusivity:
Encourage an inclusive workplace where diverse voices are not only heard but actively sought out. Prioritize diversity in leadership roles and ensure that hiring practices are transparent and unbiased.
There is a lot of talk around salary transparency, stop circling around this address compensation disparities.
Review and rectify any existing disparities in compensation. A fair and merit-based compensation structure is essential for maintaining employee morale and attracting top talent.
One last thing lead by example, demonstrate the values and behaviours expected of the team. Leading by example fosters a positive organisational culture and sets a standard for professionalism and integrity.
There are a lot of new positive changes coming into play at G2 and I am eager to stay and see them, but if the above is not addressed many will walk away, customers and employees.

- Recently certified as "Great Places To Work" , it truly embodies its PEAK culture and ensures it is followed by everyone day-in-day-out.
- One of the best things that I have never seen any company introduce is the "Pay Transparency" initiative that's been introduced recently ensuring that employees are given a fair salary as per the industry standards and matching their skills that they bring to the table.
- You will get to learn a lot about the SAAS industry

A Series of Unforunate Events

In my many years at G2, there were lots of positives. Listing a few out below:
-Amazing coworkers
-Got lucky with a 10/10 direct manager
-Good product (reviews, buyer intent, reports)
-No one looking over my shoulder during my day-to-day tasks
-Good pay
-Learned A LOT from my experienced peers and direct manager to better myself in my career.
-Great quarterly SPIFFS
-tech stack is there for employees to do their jobs effectively
-Company encourages remote work and PTO

I wish I could say the Pros outweighed the Cons for this review, but unfortunately, the Cons had too big of an impact.
-Most peers I knew did not like their direct manager on other teams (too micro managey)
-Middle line VP managers were clueless on how to make teams more successful
-4+ layoffs since 2019
- CSM team is very new, and very not trained properly. This results in extra work for sales or customers to not have much adoption.
-Upper management plays favorites, a position was eliminated for a failing product. Instead of laying off that employee, they put that individual on a different team and eliminated another top performing employee
-Sales has very specific ROE guidelines, these are not followed by SLT or the Enterprise teams. Has resulted in unfair loss of commission on other teams affected
-Sales and marketing are not friends (they try to be, but fail)
-Comp strucutre is always changing, and most recent changes have not been aligned with what sales reps want
-Extremely low morale across all sales teams. This was addressed to VP level managers, nothing was done to make changes
-Toxic or low performing employees are kept on teams due to being a favorite while others are let go
-G2 is starting to plateau on additional products to sell
-At-Risk accounts WILL get added to your book out of the blue and as a rep you are expected to hit quota while taking these hits. There is NO forgiveness on these at-risk accounts.

Listen to your employees more. When an entire team goes to SLT explaining the low morale and a few different wants to fix, don't ignore. If the proposed solutions are not conducive to G2's future goals, offer new solutions. Doing nothing and then having layoffs doesn't sit right with people.

G2 had a great culture full of talented people. The culture in the office and the approach to work life balance has been a huge pro, but it's a shame the leadership team are ruining this.

G2's ethos is growth at all costs. Leadership don't practice the values they preach and are completely inauthentic in their management style. They make changes constantly based on what they think will work, without the infrastructure or clear plan to actually support it. The constant change is tiring, especially when the product is not up to scratch either. It feels like a company scrambling to stay afloat.
G2 has a pattern of getting rid of female leaders and are successfully building a boys club where people are hired based on having worked at LinkedIn previously. Career opportunities are limited / non-existent.
