Too many people involved in decision-making process. Feels like feelings > business in an unproductive way.

The best company I have ever worked for!
Great culture and people - this company and everyone who works here (including the leadership) truly portrays its values through and through
Employees are nice and genuinely care about each other as human beings, and not merely as coworkers
Amazing premium benefit package for employees and their dependents
Work is fun, with lots of perks, including free catered lunches, snacks, drinks, and various activities and happy hours throughout the year
Professional development is available for those who seek further certifications or learnings
The ultimate con for me is the pay - though there's a great benefits package, I do feel that the compensation is not commensurate to what other positions of similar nature are receiving. And with it being a small company, you have to wear many hats at times, which again, makes it feel like you're not being compensated as much as you should.

Fantastic place, wonderful people, but very Seattle
They're good folks. Solid intentions, strong product adoption, excellent in office perks. They might not be able to put the "golden handcuffs" on you, but they certainly try to offer you an earthy brass or copper set.
Retirement plan. Excellent Healthcare. Reasonable deadlines. Great optimistic people. Smart folks. An engineer's dream.
You'll quickly realize that everyone in management has been there 10+ years. "Great! They have created a culture that manages to retain it's talent" you'll think. And it is good, but now try to move up. Where will you go when your boss wrote the legacy code you're trying to maintain?
Further more why are you still maintaining this pile of VB? What happened? I came here to make games and get outdoors, not update a 2005 codebase.
Come here to retire comfortably, not build your career.

Good, but has great potential to be absolutely incredible
Geocaching has amazing benefits, perks, and work/life balance. When you work there, you feel good about what you're doing with your life, that you're not just putting some "widget" out into the world that doesn't really matter. You're putting people in touch with nature, creativity, and a worldwide community.
I found my time at the company to be bittersweet for reasons that are difficult to put my finger on. The pay for anyone who's not a developer is low—like 25% lower than the going rate in Seattle (in the end I was interviewing for similar roles and they all had a muuuuuuch higher starting pay), and there's little room for career advancement. There were odd office politics that left me and many others perplexed and frustrated.
But the odd thing is, people at Geocaching genuinely care about how things are going, but not much is really done to concretely address ongoing issues. I love the idea of "playing where you work", but in the end I wished Geocaching rolled up their sleeves and completed long over-due features, projects, and parity between the website and the app. I also wish they dealt with interpersonal issues more directly and swiftly.

Pay the market price for all employees in all departments. Listen more and support your worldwide community—they're your bread and butter. And rather than surveying your employees to know the pulse, maybe just sit at the lunch table with them from time to time to be more in touch with your fellow lackeys.

Culture of Abundance
You get what you ask for, but are then given more than you could ever ask for! I came to work everyday wanting to do my very best to support the community, my amazing co-workers and of course Bryan. The freedom and flexibility in my job allowed me to flourish and it was always encouraged to be my true-self, and I loved that about the company and it's culture. It's truly is a special place in the center of the universe.

Amazing people. Amazing game.
The best place I have ever worked. If daily catered lunch, free ski/snowboard lift tickets, amazing benefits, and the best humans don't make you excited then you won't like it here. This place truly cares about it's employees and allows the staff to have a voice in major decision making moments.
I always feel valued and I know my voice matters. I can't say enough good things about this company.

Great potential, but slow paced
Catered lunches, great work/life balance, friendly people, occasional dogs in office, great benefits
Slow paced, stale work, lack of skill development, difficult to solicit feedback, low end of pay than other tech companies in the area

When I joined, it felt like the company had a wealth of opportunities in front of it. Over time, I've seen a pattern of complacency and fear of risk that halts potential growth. As a result, development of the game, as a whole, feels sluggish. There are well placed initiatives to push for innovation in the future, but my history at the company has shown that there have been challenges reaching these annual goals. My advice is to not fear failure, and embrace ideas that push the game forward.
